Wouldn't You Like to be a Dictator for a Day?

Imagine you are in charge of the whole world for a day. What would you do? Would you be like most dictators and accumulate as much for yourself as possible? Or, would you fix some of the world's issues?

Use this lens to tell the world how YOU would fix it. Be serious or have fun. Nobody cares. Just enjoy yourself while you're telling the politicos what you would do if you had their job.

Some Ways I Would Change the World

1. Wipe out hunger. Everyone has enough food.
2. Wipe out poverty.
3. Everyone gets whatever medical treatment they need.
4. Eliminate nationalism and racism. Every human being is respected simply for being a human being.
5. I get a blonde and a brunette. Oh, wait! What I really need is a redhead. And, perhaps, one with long, jet black hair. And, maybe...
6. No one shall pay more than 10% interest on any kind of credit, nor shall any mortgage-related loan have interest in excess of 5%.
7. Worldwide income tax shall be a flat 20% fee of all income above $75,000. The first $75,000 per person is exempt. There are no other deductions of any kind.
... and I'll add more as I think of them.

Use the guestbook to list how you would change the world.

Under my benevolent dictatorship in the US I would:
%u2022 Eliminate and outlaw nuclear weapons
%u2022 Re-establish the principles of a "just war" [versus preemptive war, whether or not a threat exists]
%u2022 Universal healthcare
%u2022 Feed the hungry
%u2022 Invest in research and development of alternative energy
%u2022 Restore habeas corpus
%u2022 Stop torture, renditions, indefinite detentions
%u2022 Outlaw government domestic spying without court supervision and a warrant
%u2022 Restore Congressional checks and balances on the Executive
%u2022 Withdraw our troops from Iraq immediately
%u2022 Begin diplomatic discussions with Iran over its domestic nuclear power program [and possible WMD intentions]

well, that's enough for starters

OK, First: NO income tax what so ever!
Second: NO income tax what so ever!
Third: NO income tax what so ever!
Forth: Shucks! Just get rid of the income tax and everything else will be just fine! LOL :D
