Classroom Die Cutter

A Die Cutter is a Teacher's Helping Hand

In my classroom I like to use a lot of hands-on materials. In the past I have painstakingly cut out each figure by hand. When creating calendar patterns that means at least 30 cut outs per month. Then add to that the cutouts for math manipulatives, word cards, board games and name tags and it seemed that all I ever did was cut out shapes. Then I ran across die cutters.

A die cutter is a helping hand in the classroom. Turn the handle and roll our up to five dies in a single pass. You can cut as many as eight layers of paper at a time. Make dozens and dozens of shaped paper patterns quickly and easily. Creating hands-on learning materials is fast and easy with a die cutter.

Imagine all the ways that you could use a die cutter...

What projects could you do with the AccuCut Die Cutter?

ACCUCUT ACCUCUT DIE SET HAND #1

One of my favorite projects is called Cover Your Cough where children draw a picture of their own face and then use a cut out of a hand to hold a Kleenex over their mouth and nose. The AccuCut Mark IV Die Cutter would be wonderful for creating all those heads and hands.

Beautiful handmade Valentine's Day cards can easily be made with a die cutter and these heart shaped dies. Die cuts make it easy for you and your children to make cards that anyone would be proud to receive. We made delightful bulletin board decorations by cutting out hearts and then adding legs and arms from folded strips of paper with smaller hearts for hands and feet.

I want one I want one I want one ... a die cutter would be so much fun for crafts. I would probably not need this heavy duty model but I might try out a smaller craft style in the future. What a great idea for classroom goodies.

As an avid paper crafter, I have two die cutters -- a Cricut (electronic) and another hand-held tool. They have many uses. I can well understand how valuable these items would be in a classroom.
