How Diet Food Delivery Systems Work

The whole ethos of diet food delivery is so that it as simple and easy to work with as is possible with the processes we have available today. Taking Nutrisystem as our example, we can see how this works, sort of like some of the Nutrisystem reviews that can be found elsewhere.

A new customer places an order for a certain diet program from the Nutrisystem website and specifies what type of diet plan they want and customize their menu to suit the kind of things they like to eat. This is, of course within the bounds of what is available, although the choice is vast and hugely varied so it is possible to select an entire diet menu without selecting the same meal twice. The diet plan is set to last four weeks (28 days) and you get all your meals (three meals per day) that include breakfast, lunch and dinner with a dessert plus two snacks that may be eaten between meals to help stave of any need to nibble on something.

The entire diet system, with its 28 days worth of three meals a day is packaged up at the company warehouse and delivered to the customers home. There, the customer puts the delivered food package in a suitable place to store it, where it is cool and dry. In the case of their Select plan, which includes frozen desserts, room will have to be made in the domestic freezer to accommodate them.

The rest is simplicity itself.

Each day, at each meal time, the customer simply takes the meal, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, out of the package and following the instructions on the packaging for that meal will either put it straight onto a plate to eat as it comes, or heat it in a microwave for a hot meal. Lastly, the customer has to, well... eat it!

That's how it works and why it is really so easy and convenient.

What This Saves

This kind of diet system saves the customer a lot of the hassles that accompany regular diets and, as is explained by the very convenience label placed upon it, saves time and effort. Here is what you don't need to do with this kind of diet that is delivered to your home:

1. You don't need to go to the store to buy groceries. Imagine that!

2. You don't need to prepare any food as its all done for you.

3. You don't need to weigh or measure portions or count calories. That is already done for you.

4. You don't have to cook any food, just remove each meal from its pack, microwave or not and then eat it.

When you think about it, probably the only way to make this diet any more easy and convenient would be if it provided someone to feed you the food on a spoon! How easy is this for losing weight!

What You Have To Do

Okay, as convenient and easy as the kind of diet system that Nutrisystem or companies like it can provide for you, there are still some things that you should do in order to boost the effectiveness of the diet. They are not necessarily obligatory, but you will get more from the diet if you do them.

1. Drink a glass or two of plain water before each meal.

This helps with digestion, is amazingly good for your health in any case and also helps keep you feeling full for longer after the meals. Remember this is a diet and the meals will be smaller than you are probably used to eating. Drinking water (not soda, not even diet soda) fills you up with zero calories, primes your stomach and really does make digestion easier and more efficient. It also actually helps disperse water weight believe it or not, so if this is a problem for you, you really should be drinking eight or so glasses of plain water per day.

2. Eat your food slowly.

When you deliberately eat more slowly, you will feel fuller after the meal and more satisfied. This may take some practice especially if you are in the habit of wolfing down your food all the time. Eating fast is not good for digestion and causes less of the food you eat to be processed into the nutrients your body needs while more gets stored as fat. So it really pays to slow down.

Try putting less food onto your fork so each mouthful is a little smaller. Then put the fork down after each mouthful and take your time chewing and actually tasting the food before you swallow!

3. Avoid distractions when you eat.

Watching TV or reading a magazine or newspaper while you eat actually diverts your attention away from what you are eating and also interferes with the digestion process, that can lead to more fat being stored. This is what you do not want, so get rid of the TV, do not read things and put all your attention on your meal. It will help you lose weight, so do it!

Another thing you should avoid is fast music, even if its quiet. Music with an uptempo beat is known to make people eat faster, which is why you will always hear this quietly playing piped music in fast food restaurants. The owners know of this and it helps them get their customers to eat up more quickly so they will leave sooner and make way for more new customers on the tables they free up!

4. Exercise!

Do some light to moderate exercise every day and your weight will drop off you much faster. It doesn't have to be anything too strenuous. Even going for long, brisk walks will help you. Anything that gets you active, preferably out of the house and into the fresh air and sunshine will really boost your efforts to lose weight through your diet.

5. Believe in yourself

When you believe in your ability to do a thing, you can do it! Dieting to lose weight is no different. believe that you will lose that weight and it will happen for you!

    Another really informative lens on Nutrisystem. It really sounds like a good way to lose weight. I have never seen that Youtube video of the unboxing before, it was quite an eye opener!
