Losing the weight for good!

I am going on my final weight loss journey. I have tried every diet from Atkins to Weight Watchers over the years and have learned a lot along the way. This time I dont intend to follow any specific plan just count calories and exercise my butt off!
I will share my favorite links, some of the great things I have gathered over the years with all of my other diets. What I know about exercise from the great people and trainers I have met over the years. And you will have to read about my favorite trainer Jillian Michaels because what is hard work without her!

Stumble It!

Weekly Updates

I have joined the 50 million pound challenge. If you would like to join the link is below. And if you want to join a team I have created the Jillian Junkie team.
MY WEIGH IN July 10
I've lost 28 pounds!!!!!

The history

I was never an overweight person, though I always though I was. I was athletic and had muscle. When a scale tells you 140 when your 5'7" in high school knowing your friends are 120 pounds wet you dont have the knowledge to factor in height and muscle mass.
College killed me! I went to college and put on the freshman 30 living on beer and pizza. Than slowly pound after pound crept on and I was 188 at my wedding. I did Atkins and lost an astounding 50 pounds in 3 1/2 months, only to put it back on again becasue it is impossible to live a life without carbs, getting pregnant didnt help much either.
3 months after my baby was born I lost about 30 pounds again with Weight Watchers, only to put it back on again when we moved away from my gym and my support group.
Pregnant again... but I actually managed to only gain 11 pounds this time and left the hospital the same weight I was when I got pregnant. Without trying I managed to lose 15 pounds in the 3 weeks after birth. This gave me the motivation to keep going to lose another 20 pounds. Followed once again by moving and losing my gym and routine. Back on the weight went for another year.
Once again I get into a routine and lose 25 pounds, and again it goes on.
Yet another time my husband opens a landscaping company and puts me to work. I lose 30 pounds in a month, felt great, one of the best feelings I have had while losing weight, because I was working hard! I actually started to get up at 6am and run before the manual labor started.
But winter came and the weight came with it.
Now to this past spring. My gracious, loving husband makes a huge sacrifice in cash and sanity and sends me to Fitness Ridge in Utah. Great place by the way. This was exactly the kind of place I needed if only I could have stayed for another 6 weeks! It was biggest loser style where your meals are planned and you can exercise almost 24 hours a day. I was able to show myself that I can do so much more than I give myself credit for. Really I could devote a whole lense to this place and how much I loved it there.
So to now... I have kept off most of the 30 pounds I lost in the spring. I have a YMCA membership, and a treadmill, weight machine, and kickboxing bag at home.

Other thoughts for the week

Wow I have been so busy the last few months I have not done anything with Squidoo. I am now down 28 pounds, not where I wanted to be by this point but still almost 30 pounds since the start of the year.
My new business, mandleco.com, has gone through the roof in the month since it's launch and I am finding it hard to budget my time between that and exercise. It's harder because just a few months ago I was able to give exercise at least 2 hours a day, now that doesnt happen very often.

My favorite (mostly diet) links

This is where you will find me other than the treadmill

How are you doing? I've got a lens going on my weight loss journey as well, its at http://www.squidoo.com/lose-thirty-pounds . I got back in shape after my 2nd child, but got lazy after my 3rd one. Having given birth to my 4th child last August, I'm determined to get hot again by June!!! Good luck to you and I'll check back to see how you're doing. These lens are great stuff for motivation: I'm using mine as a daily log.

I can relate to this lens and I support your goal. Weight loss can be almost as frustrating as trying to stop smoking. As you know there an emotional component to overeating. You might want to look at my emotional recovery lenses too. Keep up your great work. Sincerely: Gary Eby, author and therapist.
