How to lose weight - the universal question
How to lose weight? This seems to be the universal question at the moment.
Everyone I know has already been on a diet (and those who say they haven't are lying). I have dealt with dieting for the past few years and tried out many diets myself - some with more and some with less success.
On this page I want to give you some advice on different diets and tell stories of my personal experiences with the fight to lose weight.
I also have a blog where I write about my daily dieting experiences. Visit www.dietingdelilah.com to find out more about my personal struggle!
The bad habits you have to overcome to succeed to lose weight
sometimes it is not the diet's fault but yours

You are right often diets fail for reasons over and above yourself, BUT sometimes it is entirely your own fault. (and most people who have been on a diet before know what I am talking about)
If you want to succeed with your diet you have to find these bad habits and change them. Don't let yourself stand in the way to your own success!
The most common bad habits when it comes to dieting are:
- Don't break your diet when you are in a bad mood - "I had such a bad day today, I deserve this ice cream!"
- Don't turne one slip into an excuse to quit - "I blew my diet. Who cares? I knew that it wouldn't work anyway."
- Avoid the Starve/Binge Cycle - "I just had a tea for breakfast and a small salad for lunch...now I can have all the pizza I want."
- Don't constantly ask what other people think - "Do I look thinner? Have I lost weight? Am I fat?"
- Don't hang out with friends that don't support you in your diet - "Oh come on Delilah, it is just ONE piece of cake."
- Stop to see eating as a social event - "Let's go out for dinner!"
- Stop eating too fast - "Mmmmmmmfffmmfff,....I'm done!"
- Get aware of unconscious munching - "What do you mean, I ate the whole bag?"
- Avoid strss eating - "But this is my comfort food!"
These are just some of the common excuses that we like to use when it comes to dieting.
If you are aware of those bad habits you will be able to better stick to your diet and pursue your goals.

Soup Diets
the magic soups
Due to the huge success of my article on cabbage soup and chicken soup I wanted to dedicate some space on my lense to those two diets. The cabbage soup diet is quite simple - for 7 days you eat cabbage soup and some additional foods like fruit, veggies and also chicken. My niece has lost quite some pounds because of this diet. It deffitely is worth having a look at. Click here to get directly to her "cabbage soup lense" were you find different cabbage soup recipes.
The chicken soup diet means eating chicken soup for a term of 8 days. For a lot of people chicken soup means childhood memories and so for them sticking to the diet for some time is not a problem. A lot of people reported success with this diet, so I definitely think it is worth trying it out. I have some more information on the chicken soup diet that can be helpful if you want to try it out.
