What are the different types of diffusers?

The fragrance of an essential oil can directly affect everything from your emotional state to your lifespan. Why is it good to diffuse when trying to do aromatherapy? What's the difference between a diffuser and a nebulizer? A Diffuser is any device which allows a liquid to evaporate thus that imparts a scent into the air by evaporation.

There are 4 ways this can be accomplished.
First using Heat - the increased temperature will cause the essential oil to evaporate into the air.

Second by Ventilation utilizing a small fan to create airflow, evaporation is achieved when air passes over a wick or absorbent pad which holds the essential oil.

Third by Humidification using water and essential oil mixed together, a mist can be formed which will fill the air. This mist is produced either by a fan, heat or ultrasonic waves of energy.

Forth Nebulization is a process which forces the break down of essential oils into very tiny particles. It requires a high velocity, pressurized air stream and a specially designed jet nozzle. The rate of evaporation is highly accelerated and occurs almost instantly. The use of a Timer is recommended for any Nebulizing system. They help prevent over saturation and quickly pay for themselves by preserving oils.

Which diffusion method you choose, will determine to a large degree, the amount of aroma and the therapeutic benefit you receive from an essential oil.

Often people with respiratory problems such as asthma or hayfever have doctors who recommend using nebulizers to benefit their patients.

Terra Cotta Pendant Necklace and Aromatherapy Diffuser

Aromatherapy means "to treat with aroma through inhalation." Although there are other applications for Aromatherapy, if you would like to be proactive about your health and wellness, and particularly the state of your emotions, then diffusing essential oils is the most practical and effective way to enjoy their benefits!

To provide a pleasant scent to your environment try these sweet little necklaces. It is classified as a ventilation type of diffuser - using the terra cotta to absorb and release the scent.

I have found the most wonderful website with a sweet little creation which would make a great and thoughtful gift for those you love. They have terra cotta pendants with zodiak designs, goddess designs, rune designs, as well as several other patterns. Have a look - the price is right! If you have a group you can order in bulk and receive wholesale pricing. The newest symbol on the pendants is the aum (or some spell it om or ohm). Have a look.

You can diffuse your essential oils using these pendants and the fragrance will last a long time. Terra Cotta Pendants make Aromatherapy as simple as breathing! Diffusing essential oils with a wearable diffuser that effectively and continuously disperses the oil into the air you breathe is a powerful way to support your desire to feel good all day long.

If you sell any brand of essential oil or fragrances these make wonderful and unique diffusers. They also have an affiliate marketing program.

So visit the site to order your pendant.

They have a new YinYang pendant and/or bracelet that I just love.
What's cool about this type of diffuser is it can easily go with you anywhere!
These are GREAT Gift ideas and the pendants are economical compared to other types of diffusers.

Research on Aromatherapy on Hypertension

Check out this link:

This link is to an Article published on a study done on the effects of essential oils on essential hypertension (high blood pressure).

The incredible and exciting part of the study is that they used the oils through inhalation, and they inhaled them only one time per day.

One time per day!

And the results were, and I quote,

"significantly statistically different"

for the four factors they measured.

Have a look at this great nebulizer.

If you want to use essential oils for their maximum healing qualities and pure therapeutic benefit, only a nebulizer will do the job correctly and effectively.

This is why doctors and respiratory professionals prescribe the use of a nebulizer to administer inhalants of a medicinal or therapeutic nature.

Testimonial:

I had no idea there was a company that specialized in diffusers and nebulizers. After purchasing one of the new diffusers from Diffuser World, I have finally found a product that is SPECTACULAR in every way!

The pump is ultra quiet, diffusion is adjustable, it's easy to operate and clean, and it's highly efficient which means precious essential oils are no longer wasted.

These are the MOST BEAUTIFUL designs I have ever seen with prices that are ridiculously low for their quality.

This is an example of a Humidification type of diffuser. This is a great way to freshen the air at the office. Using peppermint oil will wake you up! Or Thieves oil will kill viruses - a good idea when some bug is going around.

What Dr. Light Miller, ND and Dr. Bryan Miller, DC says about Inhalation

The following is a quote from their book:

Poor diet and over-consumption of dairy products may cause sinus problems, headaches, conjestion, and many other symptoms that can be relieved by inhalation. Inhalation brings essential oils in vapor form to the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, calming, opening, and fighting invaders.

How to Practice Inhalation

The best way to practice inhalation is to purchase an inhalation device. The old method is to boil water, pour it into a bowl, and put in 3 to 5 drops of essential oil; if you are using heating oils such as thyme or eucalyptus, you may want to use only 2 drops. Make sure the water is steaming, put a towel over your head, close your eyes, and take slow, deep breaths. Be careful not to get too close to the steam. You will notice a diminishing odor after three minutes. At that time you can add more essential oils or terminate the treatment. For acute illness, alergice reaction, or hay fever, do an inhalation treatment every fifteen minutes. For more chronic conditions (mucous congestion, depression), perform an inhalation every two to four hours. Reduct frequency as sumptoms diminish. As 95% of our illnesses start in our emotional bodies, almost any condition can be treated with inhalation of essential oils.

A Good Combination of Oils for:

Colds use two drops each of eucalyptus, rosemary, camphor

Flu use one drop each of thyme, cajeput

Depression use two drops each of bergamot, geranium, lemongrass

Sinusitis use one drop each of angelica, eucalyptus, neroli, cypress, yarrow

Cough use one drop each of hyssop, sage, anise, sandalwood

Fever use two drops of lavender and one drop of chamomile

Humidification Diffusers

If you live in a dry climate, like I do in Colorado, a humidification diffuser is just the solution. Sometimes these are referred to as vaporizors. This one is a nebulizing diffuser.

This sleek diffuser is wonderful for both adding humidity to the air, and for dispersing your desired essential oil or blend throughout a room! The ultrasonic transducer transforms water and essential oil into a cool mist. This diffuser also includes an output adjustment knob, and 5 timer features so you can more fully control the output and timing of your diffuser. This diffuser is nearly silent-all you will really hear is the gentle sound of trickling water-so it can be used both at night or during the day. And since this diffuser creates negative ions with its ultrasonic action, it also works to help purify the air!
