I take digestive enzymes to prevent acid reflux and for better digestion, and they really work. I didn't know they were good for arthritis too. That's good to know. Very informative lens.

I just finished the book "Everything You Need to Know About Enzymes" and it's true it was a very Simple Guide to Using Enzymes". I had no real knowledge of how digestive and therapeutic enzymes work before reading the book.by Tom Bohager. I've been using digest gold for about a year now and I haven't had any problems with IBS or acid reflex when I am using the products. About six months ago I found out I was diabetic and started using the product called "Reduce" and it's been helping me maintain my sugar. . Thanks again for the lens!

Great lens. Healthy digestion is crucial for healing arthritis and for good health in general. Probiotics are another great way to support healthy digestion. Check out my article on how to make your own non-dairy probiotics.

I was able to stop taking Nexium for GERD and acid reflux when I started taking Digestive Enzymes instead!! I took a lot of the enzymes at first because I was so deficient due to taking the Nexium that stops the stomach's acid production. Now I can tell that I am absorbing the nutrients I take in from food and other supplements.

I use only the Digestive Enzymes available through Nutrilite, which is a Vitamin and Supplement company that has organic supplements and has never had a recall in all of it's 75+ years of doing business. The website I use is amway.com/dtr

The use of digestive enzymes to alleviate arthritis would be very useful, especially for hip replacement recipients suffering adverse effects and pursuing a DePuy Pinnacle Lawsuit, who need to decrease the pain of underlying arthritis and pain from the hip replacement device. Thanks!

Like you mention Dr. Lipski recommending, I have also found at a low antigen diet important for effective rheumatoid arthritis treatment, although people must be individually tested to determine which antigens are problems for them specifically, since that can vary so widely from one person to the next.

I advise all of my patients that they should take an enzyme supplement, given that they mostly eat cooked food and that isn't likely to stop. I myself take them with every meal. I generally do not favor supplements, preferring to see patients get their nutrition from whole foods. However, along with minerals, I see enzymes in a vital "must-supplement" category.

Your article is very informative. Thanks. I was suffering from constipation six months ago. After few tests, the doctor confirmed that the acute constipation was due to deficiency of digestive enzymes and aging. I was not in favor of conventional treatments for the side effects they have and started looking for natural alternatives. www.Enzymedica.com is one website that helped me in my research. Finally, after a week's research on the Internet and consultation I settled for Royal Greens Ultra http://www.newvitality.com/shop/royal-greens-ultra.aspx.

My digestive system showed improvement in the first 2 weeks and is in perfect shape today. I also have had fewer sick days in the last 6 moths; perhaps this is due to the phytonutrients, probiotics, fruits, vegetables, fiber, different herbs, amino acids and antioxidants in Royal Greens Ultra to support the immune system.

When choosing a good enzyme, you want broad ph so the enzyme works in your acidic stomach, and alkaline intestines. Enzymedica does just that. They are some of the best enzymes on the market. I take digest gold daily.
