Is it enough?

When you buy a digital camera you will certainly end up buying a lot more. Camera case, spare batteries, large capacity memories are just a sample of accessories that people get for their camera.

This lens list some of the best accessories from numerous categories. Read on ....

Cases and Bags

It protects your camera and holds other accessories too ...

1. Canon Deluxe Photo Backpack 200EG for Canon EOS SLR Cameras
This bag is big enough to fit an SLR and practicaly all you will need. It has paded divisions for protection, it also feels really confortable in your back. Trust me you cant do wrong with this one.

2. Samsonite 708BK Microfiber Compact Video Bag
This bag is roomy without being bulky. It is made of quality material and should hold up quite well to all kinds of use and travel. I have room now in one bag for my digital camera and my little video camera, plus a host of accessories. The movable separators makes it nice so that you can vary the amount of space necessary for any item. All in all a great bag!!

Waterproof Cases

When you're taking that camera to the beach and pool, make sure you have this..

1. Canon WP-DC14 Waterproof Case for Canon SD750 Digital Camera
Highly recommended for two reasons. Great underwater photos and protection of your investment from all the elements at the beach. No more worries, you camera is safe, sealed in this case, from sand and water.

2. Canon WP-DC80 Waterproof Case for PowerShot SD550
I bought a brand new SD550 and a WP-DC80 before my trip to the Carribean, I was quite hesitant as it ended up being quite an expensive purchase (before the prices went down)--I didn't want to lose such an expensive investment with a 2GB Transcend card in it too! The water was a bit murky in the Atlantic because of the hurricanes, but the picture still came out BEAUTIFUL! I was able to go snorkeling and kayaking around Belize and Honduras without worry about the drizzling and humidity. It was absolutely wonderful being able to take pictures EVERYWHERE I went and not have to worry about my camera getting wet or damaged. The pictures are beautiful (as if the case wasn't even on it) while I was on land. I would definitely recommend this product, and I will be taking it to the snow this Winter (PLEASE Snow NOW!) and not have to worry there either! :)

Memory Cards

Big and Fast. That is the card you have to get

1. Transcend 8GB SDHC CARD (SD 2.0 SPD Class 6)

Pros:
-Affordable!
-Large 8GB capacity
-Class 6 read/write speed (which is the fastest speed currently available)
-Lifetime warranty (at least that's what the package says :)
-Transcend is a reputable company that's been making memory products for a very long time. ( I swear to the tech Gods that I don't work for them!)

Cons:
- I can't think of any right now. The closest thing to a "Con" that I can think of is that if you buy this card now, it will probably become cheaper in a month or so :) No, make that 2 weeks.

IMPORTANT SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT SDHC MEMORY CARDS:

-SDHC cards are not compatible with most older SD cameras, SD devices, or SD card readers.

-SDHC cards are rated by speed using different "classes". There are currently three data transfer speed classes available for SDHC cards. These classes are "class 2, class 4, and class 6". For example, "Class 2" would have the slowest read/write speed while "Class 6" has the fastest read/write speed. So if you have a device in which speed may play a crucial role, make sure you buy a higher "class" SDHC card. Again, this SDHC card has the fastest read/write speed available right now. Class 6 has a minimum read/write speed of 6mb/sec... while Class 2 has minimum speed rating of 2mb/sec, and Class 4 is 4mb/sec. Starting to see the pattern?

SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "SD CARDS" AND "SDHC CARDS?

SDHC is basically an upgrade to the older SD cards. The reason they upgraded it was to achieve greater data transfer speeds AND capacity than previously possible with normal SD cards... and to do this, they had to redesign the card (which is why it's not compatible with normal SD devices). This was necessary because digital cameras and digital video cameras these days have higher resolutions, which equate to larger file sizes and faster data transfer needs.

I hope I haven't confused everybody by going into this much detail, but I can't help being the nerd that I am. If you are confused, don't hesitate to comment on this post and I will try my best to answer your questions. Also, any feedback is always welcome!

Conclusion
Buy the card if you have a new device that uses SDHC. It rocks!

3. Sandisk 4GB MicroSDHC Memory Card with SD Adapter
What can I say? It's a tiny little MicroSD card with 4 GB of memory. It worked great on the first try with my HTC 8925 (AT&T Tilt) phone. It's fast and the price was perfect.

I'm sure in six months everyone will have 20 GB cards for $50 each, but for the time being if your phone or camera supports MicroSD and SDHC then pick one of these up.

BTW: If you've never seen a MicroSD card, be prepared to be floored by its size. Think fingernail.

NOTE
Not all devices support microSDHC 4.0GB cards. Some devices support SD HC but NOT 4 GB in size, but only 2 GB. PLEASE CHECK BEFORE BUYING Please contact your device manufacturer for details. To ensure compatibility, look for the microSDHC logo on the product or packaging of your new phone or PDA. We CANNOT replace cards once they have been inserted into a device. Please make sure that your devices support SDHC cards before purchasing this memory card! Many buyers did NOT READ THIS DESCRIPTION, and then their device is NOT Compatible, and they blames us. PLEASE CHECK PRIOR TO ORDERING

Battery Chargers

1. Sony Quick Battery Charger

Whenever I put some dead Ni-MH batteries in this thing, and plug it in the wall, and wait for the yellow light to go off - the batteries come out charged! And that's good enough. I like the universal voltage so it can be used abroad--you may need a plug adapter but won't need a voltage converter.

Note
The batteries that comes with this charger sucks. Ditch it.

2. Canon CB-2LW Battery Charger for NB-2L and NB2LH Batteries

As a professional cinematographer, I know batteries. The convenience in using these little chargers is unbeatable. Rather than have a big base AND a separate, almost-as-big power supply, you've a little thing that you can throw in your shoulder bag. Self contained, self monitoring, these are fantastic! It is SO much easier to keep your precious batteries charged now than anytime in the past.
Go with this Canon OEM charger. It is well designed, well made, is not that much more expensive and is very much worth it.

Pros:
- Trusted Canon Brand
- Light, Compact and easy to take on trips
- Charges Battery Faster than My camcorder's plug in adapter
- Saves room so you don't have to take your camera AC adapter on trips (for my Camcorder HV20)
- Charges a variety of battery pack for the newer Canon Camcorders as well as some Digital SLRs
- Cheap

Cons:
None

3. Nikon MH-18a Quick Battery Charger
This battery charger is exactly the same as the one that came with our Nikon D50. It works perfectly, arrived packaged well and in a timely fashion, and of course, cost less than ordering from Nikon. A no brainer!

Can be used to recharge EN-EL3a and EN-EL3 batteries (compatible with Nikon D80, D200, D300 and D700 Digital SLR Cameras). Fully recharge an exhausted battery in approximately 120 minutes

Docking Stations

1. Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock PLUS Series 3 (Wi-Fi Capable)
Thinking on buying a photo printer? dont think anymore, THIS IS the best deal! Features amazing quality ( you wont believe its a digital photo) real kodak photo paper, and its really easy to use.
the only annoying thing its the paper handling. Since the printer uses real kodak paper, the paper gets stuck in the paper tray from time to time. So you have to keep an eye on the printer and "air" the paper as the user manual says. still, i believe kodak should clear that out in a more efficient way than just a simple sentence in the users manual. (i believe i had a faulty printer just for this, since my printer could not grab the paper) this is quite annoying (frustating sometimes) so you have to keep in mind to air the paper, but when you see the quality results in your photos you wont mind the paper issue. as i did. ;)

2. Sony CSS-PHB Cybershot Station for DSCP200 Digital Cameras
WOW, this thing makes my life much easier. The DSC-p200 normally charges by opening a compartment on the side and hooking up the cable and it links by a separate cable to the port on the bottom, WHAT A PAIN. Now with the cradle everything happens by just putting it on the docking cradle. My only complaint is that it wont charge unless it is off so if you are running low on charge and want to upload pictures you have to wait but that is small fries. I haven't used the photo album feature where you can hook it to your TV but that looks pretty cool to. Great buy at a great price.

2. Sony CSS-SA Cybershot Station for DSCS60/S90 Digital Cameras
I love this little dock for the camera. I have the Cybershot Station sitting next to my computer monitor. Before I just used the USB cable that came with the camera and the camera would just be sliding around on my desk getting all scratch up. I have a 3 year old that likes to pull on cables so the camera would lose connection if the USB cable moves. Now I just slip the camera in the docking station and I'm good to go with no worrying about the USB cable or the camera moving around. OH and it recharges my batteries too!

SLR Lenses

When you serious about photography ...

1. Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens

All I can say is wow. This lens just came in today so lots left to discover but wow. I have had my xt for three years now and had given up hope of taking the pics I really wanted. I took this lens outside and got some flower pictures, then went inside and took some more pics. I have the kit lens 18-55mm and also the 75-300usm, and the 50mm lens thats so popular, I have never been able to get pics like the ones I snapped today! This lens puts off a new camera body for a long while, in short it is nothing less than great. This is what I bought the Rebel XT to do. The color, contrast, clarity is suddenly all there. I bet alot of you bought a dslr to take great pics, or much better than a point and shoot, well this lens puts you there. I notice that the newer consumer dslr bodies come with an IS lens and this is no coinsidence as its the lens that is making your pictures so much better. I highly recommend it as it is the best purchase I've made in a long time even in auto mode!

Technical Details
* Focal Length & Maximum Aperture - 55-250mm f/4-5.6
* Lens Construction - 12 elements in 10 groups, including one UD-glass element
* Diagonal Angle of View - 27° 50'- 6° 15' (with APS-C image sensors)
* Focus Adjustment - DC motor, gear-driven (front focusing design)
* Closest Focusing Distance - 3.6 ft./1.1m (maximum close-up magnification 0.31x)

2. Nikon 12-24mm f/4G ED IF Autofocus DX Nikkor Zoom Lens

I recently got this super-wide zoom and contrary to some critics, it is quite sharp. There is essentially no distortion from 14mm up. Compared to the best I could do with the Nikon 18-70, there is no comparison, there is no distortion at 18mm and it is should I say it again, "super sharp". This lens is so wide, that you have to pay careful attention to what it includes in the image. It "sees" so much more than the human eye that you have to pan back and forth before framing in the viewfinder. It seems to bend light in the way that it transforms the relationship of objects that appear to be close together as they are simultaneously pulled closer but your vantage point is as if you had taken several steps back. I will need to spend some time getting used to the perspective.

It is hard to compose an image wider than 14mm that does not include something that I would crop out later (I have shot the same scene at 12 and 14 and usually prefer the 14), so I am not sure that I am missing anything compared to the wider Sigma.

Technical Details
* 12-24mm autofocus zoom lens with f/4 maximum aperture for Nikon digital SLR cameras
* 2 Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and 3 aspherical lens elements for superior optics
* D-type design provides precise distant information for flash and ambient light exposure
* Rounded diaphragm makes out-of-focus elements appear natural; 11.8-inch close focus distance
* Measures 3.2 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches long; weighs 1.07 pounds; 5-year warranty

3. Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Lens

Nice image quality, useful zoom range, IS works great (I should know, I need it really bad), pretty decent macro, fast autofocus, good build quality, nice and light. Just a great leave-it-on lens for a photographer who isn't swimming in money and doesn't want to haul pounds and pounds of camera equipment around. Sure, there are better lenses out there, but not for this price, with these feature, at this light a weight. It's just what a kit lens should be: everything your average non-professional photographer need.

Technical Details
* The standard zoom lens is designed with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology while retaining the compactness and lightness of previous models. Its stabilization allows sharp hand-held shots at shutter speeds up to four stops slower than otherwise possible
* It consists of 11 elements in 9 groups and uses an Aspherical lens element to correct aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range and a circular aperture for exquisite rendering of out-of-focus backgrounds
