Type of Camera

A digital camera is so easy to buy yet. There are many different types of digital cameras with many features and capabilities that might never have heard. Do you need all those features, or you can also fine with a simpler (and cheaper) device from the feet?

What is the best digital camera?

What is the best camera in each category, including the results of the test in February 2011?

Digital CameraCameras come in all possible formats. SLR, small, simple or sophisticated. From super small to super-zoom, there is one for everyone. Choose a camera that suits you. Watch the best models in each category, and cameras with a good value for money.

Section SLR

Digital SLRs are booming in recent years and are becoming more affordable

Digital SLR (DSLR)Below is a section of an SLR can be seen in the view of the optical components. It does not matter whether it's an analog or a digital SLR is.

Cross section of an SLR with a view of the optical components. The drawing shows the path of light through the lens (1), the diffraction by the mirror (2) and the projection on the frosted glass set (5). Through a Lens (6) and the pentaprism (7) reaches the image viewfinder (8). While recording the mirror moves in the direction of the arrow, the shutter (3) opens, and the image is projected onto the film or sensor (4) with exactly the same image as seen in the viewfinder.

Brief explanation of the type of cameras in each group.

Simple
Cameras not so small and not advanced, although there are a few among certain 'advanced' options. Zoom ranges from 3 up to 30x, weighing 150 grams to a pound, optical viewfinder rare. However, more models available with AA and some models have a pop-up flash.

Small

Zoom range up to about 5x, weighing 120-190 grams, optical viewfinder rare, almost all only an LCD screen, all work on Li-ion battery, solid built-in flash, no flash shoe. Almost never aperture or shutter priority.

Advanced

Usually a large zoom range (10 to 26x), but there are also a few cameras from a small zoom range. The cameras have great zoom range than the ordinary LCD screen also an LCD viewfinder. The models with a small zoom range have an optical viewfinder and no viewfinder. Some models operate on AA batteries.

SLR, DSLR

spiegelreflex2In this group we all cameras with interchangeable lenses included. We call this system cameras. In fact there are even between models without a mirror system (see below what is an SLR). Average system cameras faster than compact cameras, but there are some fast compact cameras and SLRs slower, so the rollers can also sometimes reversed. The main differences are the interchangeable lenses and the larger image sensor, so you have to include more opportunities to play with depth. The camera system works by the larger sensor on average better in low light. All in all, a camera system is not necessarily better than a compact camera, it offers other advantages. He is heavier and larger (including accessories).

    Thank you for this review of cameras. I have had all types of cameras from the most basic to a professional level of camera. They all have an important role to play depending on the user and the purpose. Cameras have really come a long way since I got started in photography. There is such a wonderful selection.

    It's handy to learn about the types of digital cameras prior to buying, and your lens will help in that.

  • In determining the cameras with the best value we share the cameras in four groups: small, simple, advanced and SLR. The format we make the boundaries between the categories are never final.
    Method of classification

    We have a fixed order to determine which models fall into which category.

    * We look for cameras have a removable lens. They come in the group SLR.
    * Then we call a camera, he advanced as aperture priority and shutter priority, and manual focus is. Furthermore, an advanced camera one of the following components / features:

    - a hot shoe for external flash;
    - a small LCD screen in the viewfinder;
    - ability to shoot in the unprocessed RAW format.
    * Then we determine which cameras are really small, ie 165 mm3 or smaller. This amounts to cameras no thicker than 2.5 cm.
    * The remaining group, called the simple cameras.
