By digital downloads i mean all files that are digital and can be downloaded from the internet. You obviously can't sell downloads which are protected by copyright like for example mp3 or dvd's. You could try to sell copyrighted downloads but you will find out soon that you will be banned by most websites. So lets do this the legal way.

In my oppinion the best digital product is something you made yourself or master resale software. If you are a great musician think about making your own CD and sell it? If you think you are a great photographer, why not make some profit with those nice photo's? If you are a writer, make that golddigging Ebook. Most digital products sold on the sites i will write you about are master resale products and platinum labeled products. You have your good old Ebook, but also software and educational video's. If you are slightly alike me, you want to make some money online. A famous hero of mine ones said 'Time is money, and money doesn't smell' (Scrooge McDuck). I have seen many ways to make money online but the one i am going to mention in this article is my best project till now. It is not difficult to do, every idiot can do it (I can and by that so can you). Offcourse it will cost you some time to invest in this method. No money will come to you without effort, that is if you are not Bill Gates or again Scrooge McDuck. Let me first introduce the digital marketplaces where you can sell digital downloads.

If you didn't heard of ebay, you are probably not from this planet. A brilliant concept by Pierre Omidyar in 1995. He created a software platform from his own home which could combine sellers and buyers. Ebay is now the biggest online auction site in the world. I will not tell you how to sell your Iphone or your dvd & cd's, you probably know that. But Ebay also sells digital downloads. People buy the product, get the downloadlink and the transaction is done, simple as that.

Because of the possibility of downloadlinks, selling master resell products becomes very easy and attractive. You can make a nice description, put some nice pictures in it and it is ready for selling. You can sell Resell products as much as you like as long as you keep yourself to the rules provided with the product.

When you want to exploid this idea, you see that there is much and by that i mean VERY much competition on Ebay. Assumably we are not the only brilliant people on Ebay. So what we have to do is create an unique product which is cheap and something people want to have. To know what sells on Ebay you have to do some research first.

What is your target? That one is simple, the entire world as there are no shipping costs.

What is the competition selling and what product sells good? You can look this up in the history of the seller, i always look how many times an item is sold in the history of the seller.

So now it is time to think of a product yourself. I think the best way of selling a master resale product on ebay is by making a collection of one subject. let's say selling on Ebay. I collect 10 or 20 products related to ebay and zip them to one file. Now i have created an Unique product which no one is selling so there is no competition for my product. But we are still missing the most important thing, making a sales letter.

Most resale products come with a standard salesletter. Most sellers use the same salesletter to sell the product. off course google doesnt like hundreds of the same descriptions and will not give it a high rank in its search results. So that is why we have to make an unique salesletter as well. make a small description, not too small bute also not too long. Also use pictures as pictures say more than words and fact is people like pictures :). Well now we finished are product an we are ready for selling, just put some reasnoble price on it which you yourself would like to pay for it and we are ready for take off.

This maybe sounds easy, but it is hard work to create a good looking unique product. That is the main reason why i don't use Ebay that often. But if you have the patience and the time, i guarantee you this will work. Now let us have a look on some other marketplaces.

Tradebit.com

Tradebit is my favourite place to sell digital downloads. I like it because of it's simplcity and, more important, their advertisements rank very well on google. The main good thing about tradebit is that they have almost unlimited storage, 99 GB. The other good thing is that you only have to pay them money if you sold something.

The most easy thing is to set up an item and let tradebit do the rest. When you sell something, tradebit claims 25%. You can reduce this to 5% if you affiliate your own products by promoting it on a forum or on your own website. And they pay out every week.

My personal experience with Tradebit is very good. I am making $100 a month from Tradebit. Off course you have to invest some time and work to search for products and put them online for selling, but if they are online they are there to stay and will sell over and over and over.......again.

They also have a really nice feature for merchants who are selling there own made product at clickbank or paydotcom. You can integrate your product and sell it on Tradebit. Imagine that, instantly 200 000 hits a day potential for your product, a good reason to start making that ebook you were always thinking about.

After i discovered Tradebit, i saw another look-a-like- website called Payloadz. It has the same principle as tradebit. They have some different features than Tradebit which i will list before explain:

* You start with 1 GB of free storage
* If you want to increase your storage you have to upgrade your membership starting by $5 a month
* They don't claim 25% of your sales, instead they claim 1$ when they transfer Your earnings.
* When your earnings exceed $100 you have to upgrade your account
* Same amount of +/- 200 000 hits a day
* They have an affiliate program for introducing Payloadz to new users; $0.05 for a referral to visit there website and $1 for every person signing up.
* Paypal and Ebay integration.
* Featured product function $0.10 a click

The big difference between tradebit and payloadz is the storage amount and how much money you have to pay them. Payloadz has a more complicated system to pay its members as you have to upgrade for more selling. But they do have some interesting features.

First of all the new member affiliates, i always like this features :). More important for sellers is the Featured product fucntion. When you use this function, your product will be promoted and every time someone clicks on your product it will cost you $0.10. So if you are selling an ebook of $1,- this is not a smart thing to do. If you are selling an Video for $10, this could increase your sales multiplied. Another great feature is that they can integrate your ebay products on there site. In this way you can sell your products on Payloadz and Ebay with ease

That probably depends on the person who is selling. Everyone has his own idea what works best for him. My own experience is that Tradebit works best for me. That is because i am a bit lazy and because of the simplicity of Tradebit. I also believe that if you want to invest more time in it that Payloadz and Ebay can exceed the earnings made by Tradebit. But why should we choose only one option? We want as many people as possible seeing our products, so why not put them on all of the marketplaces? Well that is my strategy, put a lot of items online and watch which ones are selling and which are not. To start it will cost you no money for selling products at Payloadz, ebay and Tradebit.
