Clickable Video Technology
Web 2.0 Marketers Dream
I recently had four competitors of this technology give me presentations to the label side wanting to monetize music videos.Star Style Click Here to Starstyle.
VideoClix Click Here to Videoclix.
Click Video this one is in beta and rolls out in April of 2008
Compulsion Click Here to Compulsion.
Each one of these companies offer their own unique way of delivering clickable technology, and they each have incredible interfacing and presentation of the technology.
The only company that has a product for the consumer to use is VideoClix; you can obtain it from this link Click Here to Look At Purchase Page. , I encourage you to take a look at this, it's very cheap and a great resource for the web 2.0 marketer looking for the next way to monetize assets. I will also put at the bottom of this a link I was given of a demo so you can play with it yourself and see what I'm talking about. This is a way for you to make incredible CPC money along with any other widgets you're currently using. Its also a way for you to sell tangible assets out of your videos.
This Is The Future Of Video Content
The creative opportunities for this technology in the field of communication, education and advertisement are numerous to say the least. Just think of an on-line presentation of a music video in which the user can click on the clothing the artist is wearing to obtain related information. Or think of an interactive documentary which enables the user to retrieve detailed information on objects within the video. ClickVideo will move on-line video advertising into a new dimension: it becomes more playful and interactive", says Jechiam Gural, CEO of Noterik BV.I think tools like ClickVideo are exciting bring a new level of capabilities to the video streaming space. As you may expect, these formats will allow Internet users to click on various aspects of a video to pull up additional information and link to external sites. The result is brand-building video content that fulfills one highly coveted marketing goal: engaging consumers to incite an immediate response a purchase.
This is yet another technology that the music industry is going to drop the ball on; they can't even move this through legal because the persistent does not exist with video. And the problem we are running into is the artist does not understand how they are going to get paid. Everybody that has seen this inside the industry thinks its incredible but has no Idea what to do with it.
The other problem with the industry as I have said on several occasions is the RIAA, they want to control all of the assets such as video and place it on back ends the labels themselves want to create. The problem is labels think they are in the technology industry when in fact staffs have very little experience in web 2.0 marketing and they are not going to the outside to develop both the right partnerships and hire the right people to implement new technologies.
Each label including where I am has a large amount of past video libraries, they as always want to control the process of everything and hold on to all of the toys. By letting this one slip by, the industry in effect is just eliminating itself even faster. I wanted to share this because it's exciting technology and I know that web 2,0 marketers will find a way to use this faster and better then the music industry, because as we have seen, every time they have had the goose that lays the golden eggs they either sue it or say in all infinite wisdom this won't work.
I hope this is helpful and let me know your thoughts on what you think!!
