Digital Photography Hints and Tips to Help You Get a Better Picture!

The most important things you can do is learn your camera. While most cameras have basically the same functions they are set up in such a different way. You will want to study your manual and practice using your camera. Try out all of the different functions and see the difference between them, and you will start to get comfortable with each and when is the best time to use them.

When taking pictures, shoot from different angles. When I assisted my wedding photographer she will typically get more of the head on shots, while I would move around and get people from the side. Sometimes I would get very low to the ground or even stand on a chair. Many times the bridal party would not be looking at me, as they were focused on the professional, but I got some really beautiful pictures from shooting at different angles.

If you are looking to get a nice portrait of someone, make sure you are eye level with them, and have them stand up straight with their chin sticking slightly out and shoulders back. It will give you a really professional looking shot, with the subject looking their best.
