Summary

Digital Reader Book Reviews

There is a lot of information to consider just with these 3 manufactures. However, a good place to start narrowing you choices would be by choosing a display size. The larger display screen provided by Sony and Amazon are both excellent, Sony's being 7.1" and Amazon's Kindle DX, the largest, available at 9". If size matters, the Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device
is the largest, and is the only manufacturer offering text to speech.

The typical size of a Hard back book is approximately 10" on the diagonal, which is 4" inches larger than the 6" display size offered by the 3 makes. All readers allow for font size control, so the smaller size should not be an issue. In fact, it may be an advantage when considering weight and storage.

An important consideration is the availability of download titles. Barnes and Noble claims over 1 million, with Amazon next in line at over 360,000, Sony does not list their title inventory.

If you can do without Kindle's text-to-speech option, the Nook from Barnes and Noble seems to be a good choice. The advantage comes from the fact that you can physically shop at Barnes and Noble to see, feel, and touch the Nook and enjoy it's largest inventory selection, whether your in or out of the store.
