Underground beats for the Digital age

Me and Glenn (aka Physics) were chatting a couple of years back, and it started to dawn on us that even in underground dance music scenes vinyl was probably gonna die out over the next few years. In commercial house scenes, most djs already played 100% cds, but in drum and bass, deep house and other smaller underground scenes vinyl was still king.

Taking this knowledge to heart, we checked out the current stores offering underground digital downloads and found them all to be lacking something. Either they were Flash monstrosities with a user interface to give you a headache, or basic PHP sites which didnt really offer much for the user. Additionally, all of them charged extra for the higher quality formats and CD quality formats, in fact CD quality downloads in WAV format would cost more than the CD! What was that all about?

So we set about building a site that would be easy to use, yet with powerful features, and would let you download underground music in a number of different formats all for the same decent price. Almost two years later and our store Digital Tunes is pretty much where we want it :)
