Dina was born in Queens, New York to a father who owns an auto parts/repair shop. She has two brothers. She loved dancing and acting from an early age, but it was not until after she graduated from university that she started to work to become an actress. She attended Long Island University, where she majored in business administration. Among her hobbies and interests are snowboarding, roller blading and biking. She lives in Los Angeles.

Dina Meyer's Filmography
Meyer's film debut was in the TV film Strapped in 1993, although her appearance in the movie Johnny Mnemonic was her breakout role. Before that, she had a role in the TV series Beverly Hills 90210 as Lucinda Nicholson. She has had roles in a number of science fiction productions, such as Starship Troopers, Birds of Prey and Star Trek Nemesis. She has also appeared in all of the movies in the SAW franchise. Starship Troopers is a science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein, first published (in abridged form) as a serial in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (October, November 1959, as "Starship Soldier") and published hardcover in 1959.
The first-person narrative is about a young soldier named Juan "Johnnie" Rico and his exploits in the Mobile Infantry, a futuristic military unit equipped with powered armor. Rico's military career progresses from recruit to non-commissioned officer and finally to officer against the backdrop of an interstellar war between mankind and an arachnoid species known as "the Bugs". Through Rico's eyes, Heinlein examines moral and philosophical aspects of suffrage, civic virtue, the necessities of war and capital punishment, and the nature of juvenile delinquency.
