Sprintcar Dirt Car in action

Sprintcars are an amazing spectacle. To see the cars pitch into the turns on such small tracks is truly an awesome experience. The rooster tails coming off the rear tires, the engines roaring and the dirt flying is something everyone should experience. As far as safety is concerned, sprintCars are now using seats designed to limit head movement to the sides. Rollovers can be very violent and we have seen film footage of a driver's head being whipped side to side in a Sprint Car. Sprintcars are the highest (fastest) level of speedway racing. They are built strong, light and with only "go fast" and safety in mind, the engines are brutally powerful with up to 900 hp.

Sprintcars are different in that they do not rely on their wings for just downforce purposes. The top wing in particular works as a type of 'air brake' when cornering. As well as cousin when rolling over occurs.
Sprint car racing fascinates thousand of people at each night of racing. These enthusiastic audiences respond positively to the level of competition the sport provides. Sometimes the show in the stands is almost as good as on the track! You will also want to see: Dirt Cars Website!

Outlaw late model dirt cars

Back in the 1980's there was a division of dirt racing that they called the outlaw latemodels. This picture was taken in the driveway just before loading up for a big race in Tucson Arizona. Third that night was not to bad. The fans got their money's worth that night! We had a few different body styles that we tried throughout the season that year. It was all about down force and going faster than the other guys.

Even the BIG DOGS do it on dirt.

Bill Elliott, Tony Stewart, Casey Kane and Ken Schrader are among the many top NASCAR drivers that regularly participate in racing dirt cars. Many race car drivers return to their roots of dirt track racing.

Many even own dirt track racing facilities. Tony Stewart just purchased the famous Eldora speedway and Ken Schrader owns at least two tracks that I know of.

There is a real attraction to the dirt. The driving skill and being able to handle level of competition makes for some awesome racing. Check out your local dirt track on Friday and Saturday nights, you will love it.
