Yep, I know the economy sucks, everybody is worried about losing their jobs, and all their investments have taken a beating. Wow, do you guys need a vacation. I know I need a vacation, but who can afford, what with all the before mentioned nonsense that's been going on. Well, I have a few suggestions for getting some dirt cheap airline tickets.

It certainly can be an expensive proposition going on vacation, and I know that air travel, is often the most expensive item in our vacation budget. Well, what if that didn't have to be the case. Really it shouldn't be. When you think about it, flying is not really the reason we go on vacation. It's all about where were going to. So instead of spending so much money on jet fuel, lets save a few bucks, and maybe put into having more fun at our place of destination.

First of all, we could all learn to be a bit more flexible. At least with our coming and going dates. I mean, who really cares when you go, just so long as you do actually go. That's the important thing. It's quite amazing, what kinds of deals you can get, when you juggle your flight schedule a few days, or even hours. Usually mid week flights are cheaper, and do your best, to stay away from flying on any major holidays.

The sooner you get started planning your flights, the sooner it gets done, and in all likelihood, the cheaper it will be. Airlines don't like surprises, but what they do like is selling out all their seats months ahead of time. And, just to prove it to you, their offering some pretty hefty discounts for those people that buy their tickets well ahead of time. You should be one of them ;)

Where you look for dirt cheap airline tickets is also very important as well. And obviously, your looking in a good place. The internet is so stock full of travel websites, hocking dirt cheap airline tickets it's practically impossible not to trip over them. A few Google searches should have you looking in the right direction.

Another thing to bear in mind, is to think about what your paying for. There are several low budget discount airlines that could save you money. If your not a big fan of airline food, and don't need complimentary drinks while onboard, then these airlines may be the ticket for you.
