Finding the Cheapest Newspaper Subscription
Although the number of people subscribing to a print newspaper is declining due to digital media, there are still many people who receive the newspaper by delivery. However, when finances are tight, a subscription is often the first thing to go.
Daily newspaper subscriptions can be very expensive if you pay full price and you'll pay even more if you purchase your newspaper at a newsstand every day. Instead of giving up your paper, get a discount newspaper subscription and save about 50%.

3 Ways to Get a Discount on Your Newspaper
So now that you've decided to keep your newspaper subscription, how do you go about getting a discount on it? Well, there are three ways to go about doing it and the savings can be significant.
Saving money is important these days and a newspaper subscription may be taking a big chunk out of your budget. Instead of eliminating your subscription, search around for a cheaper deal and use some of the money you save on something more important.
- Visit a discount site. Use a website like Discounted Newspapers to locate the best deals for your area. Whether you want a national newspaper or a local newspaper, you'll find a great selection on this site. Best of all, the prices are likely way cheaper than what you're currently spending and you may even be able to get a 6 month subscription so that you're not spending so much money at one time. Make sure you cancel your current subscription so that you don't wind up receiving two newspapers!
- Ask for a discount. Contact the customer service for your current subscription and ask them for a discount. Many times they will grant your request and lower your bill. If asking doesn't work, tell them that you'd like to cancel your subscription and go with a cheaper competitor and often that will be enough to get a discount offer.
- Steal your neighbor's paper. Ok, this is a joke, but it definitely can be tempting! On a serious note, if you're willing to read the news the next day, you may be able to ask someone to save their paper for you and then you can read it for free. This is especially great if you're only wanting the Sunday paper for the coupons.
Saving money is important these days and a newspaper subscription may be taking a big chunk out of your budget. Instead of eliminating your subscription, search around for a cheaper deal and use some of the money you save on something more important.
