- Visited Edinburgh in February, walking up Waverley Steps what a shock awaited me, my favourite street, Princes St Gardens in an uproar of building upheaval. What on earths going on?
I disapproved of the Tourist bureau, the underground shopping centre, the sign above it saying Costas Coffee bar and the coffe bar itself, and even worse Edinburghs own very Loch Ness monster - the awful new TRAM. In Leeds we have 'bendy buses', no street digging needed, they look good and would be favoured by 9 out of 10 Scots. For the first time in my lifetime Princes Street was a disgrace, a total disgrace. I know Edinburgh Councillors must share my setiments, so know something will be done. All I ask is you scrap the tram, go pedestianised, and preserve for future generations the world famous Princes Street Gardens, having such poor 'tatty shops' in Prices St was another disgrace, some looked like Barrowland inside them?
