So What Is The Story Of Disney Tangled DVD?

Disney Tangled tells the story of Rapunzel, who has been locked in a tower by the selfish Mother Gothel. Rapunzel is kept a prisoner by Gothel, not knowing she is really a princess who was taken by Gothel because she has magic hair. Which as with all tales of Rapunzel is never cut, and just grows longer and longer and longer.

I don't want to spoil the film for you by going into too much detail.

Any way, Rapunzel desperately wants to see the magic lights that appear once a year, on the day that just happens to be Rapunzel's Birthday. She asks Gothel, but is told that the world is a dangerous place and that Rapunzel should not venture out there.

But with the help of Flynn Rider, she leaves the tower and goes to see the lights for herself. Eventually realising she has been lied to by Gothel.

This really is a great film so treat your self, and your kids.

Don't Be Put Off Buying Disney Tangled

Now if you are anything like me, when your kids asked to go and see Tangled, you kind of went, "do we have to?".

I don't know how they managed to put so many people off with their advertising. I really expected to dislike the character of Rapunzel, she did not come across well in the adverts I heard.
However, I loved this film, I loved the characters, the relationship between Rapunzel and Flynn Rider was lovely. Rapunzel managed to come across as a well adjusted down to earth character, without being the goody two shoes, sickly sweet girl, who is just not real. She was courageous and strong when she needed to be, a good role model for girls who watch this movie.
It was funny and swept you along at such an enjoyable pace, that it kept you entertained all the way through. This is good because watching in 3D is great, visually, but those glasses do get on your nerves, or at least mine, anyway.
Visually it was lovely, I loved Rapunzel's hair, and her feet! The bit where she touches the grass for the first time is one of my favourites. There really must have been a lot of thought and effort put into her hair and toes.
Now Tangled DVD, does also have some songs in it. They are nice, not over powering, but also not as memorable as some of the other Disney classics. The songs are however, well sung and, again, enjoyable.
I can't really think of anything bad to say about this film, apart from I, personally found the way Gothel spoke to Rapunzel a little bit uncomfortable. I cannot see that if anyone had been spoken to like that all their lives they would have been quite so nice and well adjusted. But this is just the mother in me I suppose, kids probably do not pick up on it.

So, if you have not watched it already, grab the Tangled DVD, it is well worth it, you will enjoy it. And if you have already seen it, what are you waiting for, go buy it, and enjoy it again.

Disney Tangled DVD - Rapunzel Is One Of My Favorite Disney Princesses

Although I was not too keen on going to see Disney Tangled at the cinema, I really did enjoy it. I now think that Rapunzel is one of my favorite Disney Princesses. This is because her character in Tangled is quite natural, and not either an old fashioned Princess that will just do as she is told, but neither is she a girl who will just go off and do what she wants with no thought for others.
This is shown particularly well in the scene, after she has left her tower with Flynn Rider. She is obviously caught between what she wants to do, see the magic lights, and what she feels she should do, stay in her tower as she has been told. This is nice to see that she is not just some head strong girl who does as she wants, nor is she a door mat.
This is sometimes how I feel that Disney Princesses some times come across. However I think that they have got Rapunzel just about right in Tangled.

How Does Rapunzel Compare To Other Disney Princesses?

I like the character of Rapunzel, in Disney Tangled, she is a good character. For a Disney Princess, she does not come over as being too brash, or selfish. She thinks of others and is very good natured. This is shown very well in the scene when she has left her tower, even though her Mother, Gothel, has told her not too. She goes through a mix of emotions, shouting "This is the best day ever" to then thinking that she must be the worst child in the world to have disobeyed her mother like that.
On the other hand she is not too subservient, as I some times think that the Disney Princesses used to be, a little. I find that Rapunzel is probably captured just right as a modern day young lady. For once I think Disney have got this right. It is this likability factor that makes the movie so good. The mix of the other characters does help too, they are, on the whole just as likable and certainly add to the movie in a very positive way.
