The Best Disney Villain Songs
Ranked #3,057 in Entertainment, #37,959 overall
The Best Musical Numbers From Disney Villains!
From Frollo's "Hellfire" to Mother Gothel's "Mother Knows Best", to Ratcliffe's "Mine Mine Mine", these songs convey the character's personality, motivations and intentions better than almost any amount of dialogue. Some are definitely better than others, and some amazingly evil villains never got a song at all (Malificent, for example - although she did get theme music in one of the spin-offs she featured in).
Some are simply and creepy (such as Kaa's "Trust In Me") and others aren't actually sung by the villain at all (Cruella's Song), and other's have a full supporting lightshow - such as "Be Prepared" from The Lion King. But they are all villainous, and they are almost all worth listening too - even if the movie itself wasn't worth watching.

The Best Type Of Villain Song?
Straightforward gloating or sly pretence?
Disney villains sing one of two types of song, in most cases. Either they are boasting about how terribly evil and successful they and their plans are, or they are trying to further that plan by lying to other characters and pretending to be trustworthy.
Which type of villain song do you prefer?

Straightforward 'I'm So Evil' songs
Abigail says:
Poor Unfourtunate Souls
GreenWolfSoul says:
Well, I like any villain's song in general: Disney and such are amazing!!! But, since I'm an evil villain/drama addict, I'd have to go with 'Straightforward "I'm So Evil!"'
Benny says:
I like both types, but these songs are probably the best 'I'm Evil' songs:
~"Friends on the Other Side" from The Princess and the Frog
~"In the Dark of the Night" from Anastasia
~"The Mob Song" from Beauty and the Beast
~"Hellfire" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
~"No More Mr. Nice Guy" from The Swan Princess
:D
Dizzy says:
Be Prepared and Hellfire are the masterpieces of Disney.
Lucy says:
be prepared and hellfire.
Evil and duplicitious 'Trust me!" songs!
Abigail says:
I have never seen this movie before but it is oogie boogie song nightmare before Christmas
Abigail says:
the creepiest disney villain song is... friends on the other side Dr Faciler [ the princess and the frog
Anthony Arroyo says:
Evil And Duplicitious 'Trust Me!'' Songs!
poddys says:
I love both types, depends on the character really.
Aaron says:
Be Prepared by Scar, and My Lullaby by Zira

Be Prepared
Scar (The Lion King)

Like many villains, he gets ahead of himself a bit by gloating before he's completely successful - but in Scar's case, it was also a functional song, aimed at whipping up the hyenas into a frenzy of loyalty. And he did actually succeed, so a little ego boosting singalong beforehand didn't hurt his chances!

Forte (Beauty and the Beast 2: The Enchanted Christmas)

It's not really a very evil song. In fact, if you didn't know about his ulterior motive, you'd think he was just a pessimist.

Basically? He's describing just how terrifying he is, and how he's probably going to eat Santa Claus. Nomnomnomnom.

'Out There' is Frollo's song to Quasimodo, persuading him that outside the bell tower, the world is cruel and wicked. The parallels to the more recent song 'Mother Knows Best', between Mother Gothel and Rapunzel, have been noted!
Poor Unfortunate Souls
Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

Ursula's song is definitely one of the classics - that range, that turn of lyric, that overpowered fakeness! A mix of 'deceiving the innocent heroine' with a side mixture of gloating, I love her aside "...pathetic" - it just conveys so much character, and cancels out every bit of saccharine silliness that went before.

Kaa (The Jungle Book)

It's actually one of the more understated villain songs - perhaps because Kaa isn't the main villain of The Jungle Book. Sadly, Shere Khan doesn't have a song - but he does accidentally rescue Mowgli from Kaa!

A very brief, catchy, number from the Queen of Hearts - that is very difficult to find in English on YouTube for very long!

- Fun all the way, I love villain songs. I was trying to recall if the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has a song, I think he does. He was really evil and scary. Nicely done, blessed.

- Such a great topic! I am so happy I came across this lens.
You have so many great songs on here, and it was too hard to pick just one favorite. I love the Savages song, the Siamese Cat song, and of course Be Prepared by Scar. Villains really are the best part of Disney movies :)
