Check out the rough and ready regards the Disney credit card!

The Advantages and the Drawbacks When Using the Disney Visa Card

There is no doubt in the way I see it that Walt Disney would be highly proud of his company these days. They have kept true to their key values and continue to offer family-friendly amusement in most any size and shape. From Mickey Mouse, to Winnie The Pooh, to The Princess & The Frog%u2026 their particular motion pictures are always of the top grade.

And Disney World has grown into an unparalleled 47 square mile metropolis. But, is Disney Visa truly a good way to pay for each one of these items that you may be tempted to purchase? Let's see...

Disney Visa Card Assessment

Nowadays there are many bank cards available on the market that offer various benefits. Quite a few compliment a certain crowd of folks and their particular financial needs. The Disney credit card is promoted towards family members and associates within the enterprise.

Credit card Type

It is a Visa Platinum plastic card that is granted through the Chase Bank.
*
Interest Rate

The annual percentage rate on this card does appear to be too highly competitive. These items can change without notice but when I checked, it varied in between 13.24% and 16.24% - the actual interest rate awarded depends upon the applicant's credit history.
*
Annual Fee

There is none

Incentives

Without doubt this is definitely why you are researching the card in the beginning. You are looking to gain the maximum rewards attainable in order to make your Disney excursions and product purchases cheaper. But will this card really give you anything above standard? Let's see now.

Disney Dream Reward Dollars - These are the greenbacks you acquire which can be applied towards most Disney buys, it be a Finding Nemo DVD from their store or a stay at one of their resorts. When I viewed the official page for the Disney plastic card application, I in fact found it tough to discover exactly how these work. There was all forms of generic statements like "Apply Today & Save" however they aren't specifically clear in telling you how these Dream Reward Dollars do the job.

Pros and Cons of the Disney Rewards Card continued

Upon examining the very fine print concerning the Disney Visa Charge card, on the rear of the application information, I realized they give one of these Disney Dollar per $100 in net purchases. I must say that its not exactly a whacking great amount but it comes as no true surprise either. That is merely a 1% discount and as I'm certain you are aware, there are quite a number of different charge cards that offer this level of discount. I suppose this is the reason they didn't seem to really market that part of it too much - not too much to get excited about, is there?

The Advantages

Appearing that they merely give a 1% refund, I was expecting there would be some different advantages to make up for the not so hot cash back rewards. While it's correct there are a few gains with the visa card, I don't feel they are overly impressive. For example, they say it offers 10% off at "chosen dining places" at Disneyland, but after reading the fine print again, evidently this doesn't apply to Disney World (which is where the majority of us go). The one advantage I truly appreciated was the free stroller rentals - fantastic for smaller kids, but again, this only applies to Disneyland, unfortunately.

And in Summary

It is not that the Disney credit card isn't good, it's just that the actual benefits may not make sense for everyone. I must say though the actual Annual percentage rates seems very reasonable, so I applaud them for doing that. If you live in California and frequent Disneyland instead of Disney World, then this charge card could very well be a smart choice since this is where most of the theme park advantages apply.

If not, I do not really see the point in applying for the Disney Benefits Visa since it merely gives you 1% back on your spending. Although, having said that, if you are partial to Disney over-all, then the cards are wonderfully illustrated. So this in itself may well be enough for you!
