How to Find the Best Disneyland Ticket Prices

I love Disneyland. To me, it's where adults can forget all about the cares and woes of everyday life and head into a world where nothing matters except having fun. Walt Disney loved spending time with his grandchildren and followed his dream to create Disneyland so that parents and grandparents can enjoy the simple pleasures of being together having fun.

But taking a family can be expensive, so you need to know how to get the best Disneyland deals.

Prior to my last trip to Disneyland I went online to find the best Disneyland ticket prices. But then I thought that I could get a better deal when I hit Anaheim so I didn't end up buying them online. Boy, was I wrong. I should have stuck with the internet. Still you live and learn.

This lens is all about getting the best Disneyland ticket prices with a few
tips and hints
thrown in on how to survive the park itself.

So if you have decided that the ideal gift for the family is a trip to Disneyland, then one of the cheapest ways to do that is to Book your dream Disney vacation at Expedia.com!

Tips for Getting the Best Deals on Disneyland Tickets

It's not always that easy to get really cheap Disneyland tickets because the price is pretty much set. Having said that however, there are things you can do to ensure that you pay the cheapest price available and if you go at the right time of the year you can get some great discounts.

Here are a few things that may help you to get cheap Disney tickets:

1. Don't wait until your get to the park itself to buy your tickets. This is the dearest possible place to buy Disney tickets.

2. If you can buy in advance, do so. You may be entitled to an advanced purchase price.

3. If you can get together a group of 10 or more people then you may be entitled to a group discount.

4.To see if there are any special packages available check out deals for Disneyland and other Theme Parks at Expedia.com!

How to Use the Fastpass System at Disneyland

If you've ever been to any theme park then you know how frustrating it can be having to stand in a line for an hour or more just to get on a ride.

Well the folk at Disney came up with a great idea to combat this problem and that is the
Fastpass
system.

This is how it works.

1. First check which rides have the Fastpass option. These will be located on your Disney park map by the letters FP.

2. Determine which of these rides you want to go on that day. Make a list before hitting the park, if you can.

3. Now as soon as you hit the park go to one of these rides and pick up a Fastpass ticket. This ticket will indicate the time that you need to return to get on the ride. For instance it might have a time of between 11.30-12.30. So you will need to get back to this ride between those times in order to get on without queueing.

4. Once you have the Fastpass for the first ride then head off to another less busy ride, wait in the queue and get on the ride. If it still isn't 11.30 yet go and get on another ride or just wander around the park, whatever takes your fancy.

5. Once it hits 11.30am go and find the second FP ride on your list and go and pick up another Fastpass ticket. You see, you can have two Fastpass tickets but only if it is within the time allotted for the first ticket.

6. So now you should have two Fastpass tickets in your hand. Head off now to the first ride to use your first Fastpass ticket.

7. Just keep repeating the process.

8. This will ensure that you get the maximum benefit from your day. And you will get to repeat rides that you really enjoy without waiting on the long queues. If you like a ride, pick up another fastpass ticket as soon as the ride has finished.

My Favorite Rides at Disneyland

I must admit that I am a big kid a heart and love going on the rides at Disneyland. And of course I have a few favorites that I could go on again and again.

I love 'Splash Mountain' and as I don't mind getting wet this makes it all the more fun. This ride has a couple of teasers where you are pulled up a hill and expect a long drop only to continue gently down the waterway, there are a couple of turns and some splashing of water. Then you continue through a twisting waterway where animated characters sing and send you on your way to a 50 foot drop which is the really exciting part.

Space Mountain is another one of my favouritea. This is a roller coaster ride that is taken completely in the dark, so you are never quite sure what is going to happen next as you are taken up, down and around in turbulent twists and turns.

The Hollywood Hotel - The Tower of Terror is an awesome experience with its 7 rises and drops inside a 13 story building, while you are seated inside a room that resembles an elevator. When you are at the height of the ride, windows open giving you a full view over Disneyland. Lots of fun and it's even better if you don't hold on to the side rails but raise your hands over your head as you drop.

Using the Disneyland Anaheim Resort Transport - ART - Shuttle Bus

One of the things you really need to do before you head off to the Disneyland park is to check if your hotel is situated on one of the shuttle bus routes.

Now my advice to you is to purchase a shuttle pass from the hotel before you board the bus.

Shuttle bus passes cannot be purchased on the bus and if you haven't purchased a bus pass you will be charged $3.00 for a single trip for adults and $1.00 a single trip for children 2 years and over.

Pre-purchasing an Anaheim Resort Transport (ART) Day Pass means that you can travel on any of the shuttle buses. So once the bus reaches the drop off point at Disneyland you can then board any of the other shuttles to visit other points of interest around Anaheim such as one of the many shopping areas like the Block at Orange or the Convention Centre and the Crystal Cathedral.

This gives you time out if you need time out from all the fun of the Disneyland and California theme parks. It also means that you can go shopping if you have forgotten to bring something.

A pre-purchased shuttle pass gives you unlimited travel on the shuttles for as long as the pass is valid and the charges are:-

Adults Children 2 and over
1-day $3.00 1-day $1.00
2-day $6.00
3-day $8.00 3-day $2.00
5-day $12.00 5-day $4.00

If you have children under 2 years of age they are able to travel for free.
Chilren 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

If you decide not to purchase a bus pass you need to remember that each time you travel to the Disneyland Park it will cost you for trip travel on the shuttle.

Another thing you need to be aware of is that bus drivers do not carry change so be sure to have the correct fare available when you board.
