Disneyland Vacation Tips for an Outstanding Trip

The most useful tips for planning and enjoying your trip to Disneyland.  There is a TON of info out there on Disneyland but this website has easy-to-read bulleted lists of the essential tips and secrets.

Some sample secrets...

Did you know that

... only Disneyland guests younger than 10 can wear costumes into the park?
... Walt Disney never actually owned Disneyland?
... the best time to go to Disneyland is May and September? (Best weather + lightest crowds)

See http://www.DisneylandVacationTips.com for more tips and secrets!

And don't miss the TOP 10 Disneyland Tips:

1. The best time to visit Disneyland is early September, when the weather is warm but not hot, school has started and crowds are light. The second best time to visit is May.

2. If you go when Disneyland is less busy, be aware that

- The park hours are shorter
- More rides may be closed for maintenance
- Fast Passes may not be offered

3. Call Disneyland directly at 714-781-7290 if you have specific questions. You'll get a real person.

4. For a list of rides that are closed for maintenance, call (714) 781-4565 and press 5. Or to view a list go to the Disneyland website, click "Calendar", enter the dates of your visit, and click "Get Schedule".

5. Schools have random Fridays off and half-days, which can impact attendance. Consult the local School District Calendar before your trip.

5. Adults with kids don't have to stand in line if the ride is only for the adult.

- Example 1: If Mom wants to ride Space Mountain but Dad and kids do not, tell the guy working the ride and show him your family. He will let Mom go in a special, shorter line.Top 10 Disneyland Tips

- Example 2: Mom and Dad both want to ride Space Mountain but they have an infant who can't. All 3 wait in line and when they get to the front, tell the staff you want to trade off. Mom rides first while Dad and baby wait; when Mom is done, Dad takes her seat and rides immediately.

6. Bring bottled water. All that walking will make you thirsty. Vending machine water and soft drinks are $2.75 each which really adds up. Plus, you can't bring bottles onto rides so you end up throwing most of them away.

7. The best place to buy Disneyland tickets is the Disneyland.com website. It's the quickest, easiest, most reputable source of discount Disneyland tickets. Plus:

- You can print them on your computer, so there's no shipping fees or waiting for tickets in the mail.
- You'll get a 20% off merchandise coupon.
- Your "eTicket" can be replaced if you forget or lose it.

8. Lines 13, 20, or 21 move fastest at the Disneyland entrance.

9. FastPass. It's a free ticket system within Disneyland that will save you tons of time. Learn it!

10. The best rides for toddlers are:

- It's a Small World
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Casey Jr. Circus Train
- The Monorail
- The Railroad

Parents will need to go with their kids on these rides of course.

Also, California Adventure has toddler rides in A Bug's Land which are usually pretty empty.

My daughter is toddler age and her favorite ride is the Winnie the Pooh ride in Critter Country. Might be a good one to add to your list. :)
