My Disney Photo Wallpaper

ShadowWind Disney Photo Gallery

Ah, the sights that make up Walt Disney World. There is no better place in the world to take photos. Where can you take pictures of castles, pirates and wild animals all in the same place. After getting my Olympus C740UZ digital camera, I couldn't wait to take it on a trial run to my favorite place in the world. I took over 800 pictures, but being the amateur photographer that I am, I only placed up the best on my website where I could share them with others. All the Disney wallpaper was photographed in March and May of 2006 and they are all 1024x768 for your desktop pleasure.

And now, the Disney Photo Wallpaper!

Some of my favorites!

DLP_Castle.jpgDisneyland Paris Castle

This is a picture of the model of the castle from Disneyland Paris. It is in a glass case in One Man's Dream at Disney Hollywood Studios (what used to be called Disney-MGM). It's very stunning the way they have the lights on it.

Rock and Roller Coaster

Here is a picture of the Aerosmith roller coaster at Disney Hollywood Studios. Guests are taken on a 1 minute journey in a stretch limo through the wonders of Hollywood to get the band there on time. It features a linear induction motor that can make the cars go from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

Photo of Ariel, the Little Mermaid

This was taken at the hit show Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney Hollywood Studios. The show features live action and puppet performers. One of the most stunning parts of this is the beautiful theatre that you enter. It really feels like you are under the sea.

Festival of the Lion King

Simba is rocking out in this musical stage show that is done in the round. It's truly one of the highlights of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The pageantry, the music, are all superb.

Pirates of the Caribbean Entrance

The entrance of the rowdiest boat ride into the world of Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbosa and a cast of pirates that will shake your timbers. One of my favorite rides.

MuppetVision 4D Fountain at Night

This is the fountain right in front of MuppetVision 4D, a hilarious show featuring Kermit, Miss Piggy and the whole gang. The show mixes 3D imagery with real audioanimatronics to create a one of a kind Muppet experience.

Cinderella Castle at Dusk

Cinderella's Castle taken from Main Street USA with one of the lamps in the foreground. I really like this picture from the composition point of view.

Haunted Mansion

Welcome foolish mortals to an image of the Haunted Mansion where 999 ghosts are just dying to meet you. This picture was taken during the day from the walkway in Frontierland.

Main Street Photo Exposition

This used to be home to the Walt Disney Story, and then it was the Epcot preview center among other things. Now it shows the old movies from yesteryear since they turned the Main Street Cinema into a gift shop.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

13 stories of fear! As you ascend up the elevator shaft, you sense there is something not quite right. You see the ghosts that disappeared that halloween night so long ago and you will soon be joining them as you become part of the Twilight Zone in this thrill ride from Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando.

Animal Kingdom's Tree of Life

This tree is more than just another plant. No sir, it has 325+ animals carved into it's trunk and houses a complete theatre showing "It's Tough to Be a Bug", a 3D adventure. How many trees have you seen that have that? One of the most amazing pieces of art at Disney World.

The Imagination Institute

Nigel Channing, along with friend Figment take guests through the Imagination Labs to learn about their imaginations. Also is Honey, I Shrunk the Audience as well as Imageworks, an imaginative playground.

Finding Nemo

The Living Seas became Finding Nemo at Epcot with all the characters from the popular Pixar movie. It features a new ride, and a chance to talk to Crush. This sculpture of the characters sits outside the ride.

Look for the unique...

Disney Imagineers (the dreamers behind the parks) are famous at filling every bit of space with something. Whether that something is a plant, a sculpture, a painting, or just a door hinge, there is something there. And there is a lot of fun in looking for these subtle objects.

Of course, everyone loves pictures of the castle and the various landmarks that everyone knows. But there is so much to photograph. For instance, the Pop Century Resort offers huge 8 track tapes, bowling pins, a laptop, as well as huge statues of Roger Rabbit, Mowgli and Baloo, Lady and the Tramp and many more icons of yesteryear. The lobby is filled with memorabilia from the past. However, not many people take the time to photograph these things.

If you visit often as many do, make yourself a theme when you go with your camera. Look for all the hidden mickeys and photograph each one. This can be great fun for your entire family who can help you look. Or take a picture of the literally thousands of hand created signs across the property. Did you know that even the garbage cans are themed in each location?

Architecture is another great place to find these subtle images. Not just from the wide zoom, but close up as well. For instance, the cat gargoyles on the castle's tower, the mice on the spires as you walk through, the sparkles on the sidewalk at EPCOT at night, the displays in the windows of Disney Hollywood Studios backlot.

And of course there is the ride queues that are full of atmosphere such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror's library filled with actual items from the TV show, not to mention the sparking elevator engines. Then there is the Haunted Mansion's walkway with various tombstones, one of which is for Madame Leota. Watch when she opens her eyes on the stone itself. Creepy.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that don't just look at things from a wide angle, but see what is hidden in the details. You'll be amazed and so will your viewers when they ask "Where was that?"

Sometimes details can be interesting!

Even more Disney Wallpaper from my collection!

Tom Sawyer's Island

Kids of all ages can find a lot of things to do on this island. It's a fun playground for the young'ins and a resting area for the older set. This is the dock where the rafts bring visitors to the island.

City Hall on Main Street

City Hall is the home of the Magic Kingdom's guest relations where guests can redeem annual passes, get information, make dinner reservations and more!

Tomorrowland

This is just one of the many sights in Tomorrowland, the Magic Kingdom's look at tomorrow. This particular spaceship shoots out nice cool mist, which is great on a hot day.

Darth Vader at AFI Showcase

Darth Vader is shown at the AFI Showcase at Disney Hollywood Studios. Not sure if they still have the showcase since they redid a lot of that area. But it was cool to see Darth there.

Fountain on Hollywood Blvd

Fountain on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. Behind it is the information board that tells guests the wait times at various attractions at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Performers of The Festival of the Lion King

Another great shot of the live performers that make up the Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Their colorful costumes make for a wonderfully imaginative show.

American_CyberSpace

You have some great pics here. Congrats on creating a well organized and entertaining lens. I used to enjoy photography a lot, but work has me tied down these days. I have lots of really expensive equipment (I'm a Pentax man) wasting away in storage. On the positive side, at least all my bodies, lenses, filters, flashes, tripods, etc. will be as good as new when I eventually get back into it.
