This lens is all about the Disney Princess Collection. With interesting facts about these great princesses, and a little history about some of these girls, I hope that you will enjoy this lens as much as I do.
Little girls love the Disney Princess Collection so I decided to create a lens on them.
The Disney princess collection is made up of several princesses that were created through out the years, starting with Snow White, followed by Cinderella, Princess Aurora, Princess Ariel, Belle, Princess Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan and most recently added to the princess collection is Tiana.
These girls arn't added to the Disney Princess collection just becaus they are princesses, because one of them has no ties to royalty and that "Princess" is Mulan, and she definitely earned her spot!

A little bit of history on these princesses.

Snow White
The drawing is believed to be drawn by Theodor Hosemann.
The story of Snow White originated from Germany and was first written by brothers Wilhelm Grimm and Jacob Grimm in 1812. The Dwarfs and the Magic Mirror didn't have names until the Disney version of Snow White and the seven dwarfs came out in 1937.

Cinderella

The picture is illustrated by, Oliver Herford. The idea for Cinderella can be dated back as far as the 1st century BC in the tell of Rhodopis the Greco-Egyptian girl. The earliest European tell of Cinderella is called "La Gatta Cenerentola" which appears in the book II Pentamerone by the Italiean ferry tell collector Giambattista Basile in 1635. This version was the foundation of the latter version of Cinderella published by the french author Charles Perrault and the German authors Brothers Grimm. Although in the Brothers Grimm version there is no ferry godmother, but her birth mother's spirit is represented through two birds in a tree over the mother's grave.

Edward Burne-JonesThe painting on the right is by Edward Burne-Jones.
Sleeping Beauty was first published in 1697 and is known to have many other titles but Charles Perrault was the first one to name the book Sleeping Beauty, while some previous stories with plots that were similar or really close to Sleeping Beauty are "Perceforest", "Sun, Moon, and Talia".

The Little Mermaid
The picture is drawn by Vilhelm Pedersen
The Little Mermaid was written in Denmark by the Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen. And was first published on April 7, 1837. The original title of The Little Mermaid was, Den Lille Hav Frue'.

Beaut And The Beast

The Picture to the right is illustrated by Walter Crane
The first published version of Beauty and the Beast was a rendition by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, published in La jeune americaine, et les contes marins in 1740.

Hello, nice lens, I am a great fan of fairy tales too, but more of a 'pre-Disney' era. I just created a pop quizz about classic fairy tales. There were also loads of princesses, just different. It is good to have a lot of diversity in the world, I believe. Best regards from the sunny side of the Alps:)
