Disney's Magic Kingdom

This was the park that started it all back in 1971. Walt Disney had dreamed of a new World for his theme parks. Disneyland had been successful but he wanted to build and improve on that by learning from his experiences.

The first stage of this dream, which sadly Walt Disney was never to see completed. was Magic Kingdom.

This is the park that most people think of when they imagine Disney World. Cinderella's Castle is one of the most famous landmarks in the world.

It was modeled with Disneyland in mind but it is different from that park in many ways. Here you will find such Disney park favorites as It's A Small World,Splash and Space Mountain,Autpopia,The Haunted Mansion,The Hall of Presidents and Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin.

Each evening this is the place for the spectacular Disney Wishes fireworks. A not to be missed Disney experience.

Disney World Magic Kingdom Wishes Fireworks

A highlight of your Magic Kingdom day will be the Disney Wishes fireworks. Tips of where is the best viewing place for the Wishes fireworks? My favorite places are anywhere on Main Street - snag a chair in the outdoor cafe if you can - or on the bridge just beyond Main Street.

Disney World Epcot

Walt Disney's vision of the future. The Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow was Walt's original concept for a place where people would live and work. Well Walt's dream didn't quite turn out the way that he planned as Epcot is a theme park, not a community, but the original spirit of innovation remains in Disney's Epcot.

Epcot is divided into 2 distinct parts. Future World and World Showcase.

In Future World you will find - well perhaps not surprisingly - a vision of the future. Innovative structures like the geodesic dome of Spaceship Earth, the thrilling rides of Mission Space, Test Track and Soarin Over California. Future World is divided into separate Pavilions - The Land, The Seas,Universe of Energy, and Wonders of Life (which is closed at the moment). Here you will find attractions which celebrate mans past and present technological achievements and celebrate the potential innovation of the future.

The other side of Epcot is World Showcase. Walk around the lagoon and discover 11 Pavilions each representing a different country:Canada,United Kingdom,France,Morocco,Japan,America,Italy,Germany,China, Norway and Mexico.

In each Pavilion you will find a representation of that particular country. All of them include restaurants with authentic cuisine, and shopping with products usually only found in the host country. Enjoy North African specialties in Morocco, pastries in France,a public house in the United Kingdom or fabulous pasta in Italy.

Some of the Pavilions also have attractions such as the Maelstrom ride in Norway, the movies Reflections of China, O Canada, and Impressions de France.

Epcot is often see as a park for grown ups. It is true that for many it doesn't have that 'magical' appeal of the other Disney parks - particularly the Magic Kingdom. But I would urge that you discover Epcot for yourself. It has a great deal to offer and you could very well be surprised by how much your family enjoys it.

Walt Disney World Studios Orlando

Disney MGM or Disney Hollywood Studios?

But you thought that the Disney Studios were called MGM. Well you would be right. They were for many years. But Disney World decided on a name change in 2008 to Disney Hollywood Studios.

Disney Hollywood Studios is perhaps the only park that you can really see in just one day. But that isn't to say that there isn't much to see - there certainly is!

Disney Studios is of course themed around Disney film and television. The idea is to give you a sense of a working studio set and an insight into the world of entertainment.

You will find 2 of Disney World very best thrill rides here. Rock N Roller Coaster and Disney's Hollywood Tower of Terror. You can experience The Great Movie Ride and Star Tours. Become a Jedi at the Jedi Training Academy. Or laugh with Kermit at Muppet Vision 3D. If a live action stunt show is what you are looking for then head to Lights Motors Action. Or if you think you have the talent then audition for Disney's American Idol!

There are many Disney World guide books available but I think that this is one of the most comprehensive and easy to follow. It has details of all the parks, dining, how to asses the different hotels, and the tried and tested Unofficial Guide to Disney World touring plans.

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Walt Disney always wanted to create an animal based theme park. The latest Disney World theme park Animal Kingdom is the newest of all.

But don't get the idea that this is anything like a zoo. It does have a population of more than 1000 animals living in this 500 acre park, but the Disney magic is here just as much as in all of the other parks.

You can ride on Kilimanjaro Safari, meet the Yeti on Expedition Everest, marvel at Finding Nemo the Musical or celebrate at the Festival of the Lion King. There are plenty of chances to observe and learn about the many animals in the park.

Where Should I Buy My Disney World Ticket?

Don't fall for the scams!

How do you make sure that you are buying the right Disney World ticket? And when you have decided which ticket to buy where is the best place to buy it from? There are many Disney ticket scams out there - so don't be taken in by them. Disney only sells tickets directly, or through it's authorized agents. Never buy from eBay and if a deal looks too good to be true then it probably is!

The most important thing is that you must buy either direct from Disney itself or from a trusted authorized Disney World ticket agent.

So where can you safely buy Disney World tickets at a discounted rate? Discount Disney World Tickets are available from my recommended Disney authorized ticket sellers.

How much will you save? The savings can be substantial. Take the example of a family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 kids buying 5 Day Magic Your Way Park Hopper. The savings on these tickets would add up to $47.98. What a simple and safe way to save money on Disney World tickets!

Here are some Disney World ticket tips and secrets.

1. Do you research. Think very carefully about how many days you are going to be in the Disney theme parks. Advance planning really does help - use my free guides to help you get an idea of what each park is like so that you can see where you and your family would like to spend time.

2. Decide if you want to buy a Disney Park Hopper option. This allows you to visit more than one park on the same day. The Park Hopper can be a useful feature for some guests. I have written a comprehensive guide with tips about whether or not this is right for your family at

Disney World Park Hopper Tickets

3. Do you want a non expiration option? All Disney World tickets expire 14 days after they are first used unless you buy a non expiration option.

4. Always remember. Only ever buy a Walt Disney World ticket from Disney itself or a Disney authorized ticket agent. Do not fall for the Disney tickets scams - there are plenty out there.

And remember Discount Disney World Tickets are available from my recommended Disney authorized ticket sellers.

Disney World Hotels

Should You Stay at a Disney World Resort Hotel?

Where else could you find an hotel with a monorail running through it, or experience Victorian grandeur with a view of Cinderella's Castle?>A Disney World resort hotel can be a great choice for your vacation. Not only do you experience the great Disney hospitality and excellent locations, but there are additional benefits to being a Disney resort guest.

Let's start off with your arrival at Orlando International Airport. You will have the option of taking Disney's Magical Express - a free of charge bus transfer which will take you to your resort and make sure that your luggage is waiting for you in your room.

You will also have the option of adding on the Disney Dining Plan to your Magic Your Way ticket. This allows Disney resort guests to prepay for their food and can represent a big saving.

A Disney resort guest also has access to Extra Magic Hours. This means that on ceratin days throughout your stay you will be allowed into the park either early or allowed to stay later than other non hotel guests. This is a great chance to be in the parks when they are less crowded.

Disney World Dining

Do you want to eat at a Disney restaurant?

There are many excellent restaurants at Disney World. There are many different types of Disney dining - from character meals with your favorite Disney Princess or character to exceptional fine dining experiences.

Whether you are looking for a romantic meal for two or a fun experience for the family then Disney World has it all.

Disney World restaurants are popular so it pays to do some research before you go to work out where you would most like to dine. When you have made your choices then call 407 WDW DINE up to 90 days ahead to make Advance Dining Reservations.

Do you really need to plan that far ahead? Well because of the increasing popularity of the Disney Dining Plan for resort guests, and just because the restaurants are so popular anyway, it really does make sense to reserve as far in advance as you can. Particularly for the very popular character meals at Cindrella's Royal Table where it is almost impossible to get a table unless you call ahead as soon as you can.

What if you don't get Advance Dining Reservations. Well always try visiting Guest Services as soon as you arrive at a park to see what it available for that day. And if that fails then try a walk in.

The secret to a fabulous Disney World vacation is to plan - and have fun while you plan! So check out these great lenses and have the amazing vacation to Disney World Florida that you deserve.

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park

Blizzard Beach is the newest of Disney's Water Parks. If you enjoy water slides then you are not going to want to miss Blizzard Beach.

For the truly daring there is Summit Plummet - plunge 13 stories at speeds of 60mph and hang on to your bathing suit! Or if you are not quite up to that then try Slush Gusher - on this you will only slide at 50mph.........

Even if water slides aren't your thing then Blizzard Beach can still be a great family day out. There is a special area for the younger kids at Ski Patrol Training Camp, and the wonderful lazy river Cross Country Creek, or simply relax in the gentle wave pool Meltaway Bay.

The best tip for beating the lines and avoiding the crowds at Blizzard Beach? Arrive early! Up to 45 minutes before the park opens and you will get a head start on most everyone else - apart from those who read my guides of course!

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Are you looking for a place where you can catch a six foot wave? Or swim with sharks (yes they are pretty small and very harmless).

Look no further than Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Here you will find the amazing Surf Pool and get the chance to meet the fish up close and personal at the Shark Reef.

You will find water slides, a lazy river, and a kind of water coaster named the Crush N Gusher.

Just like Disney's Blizzard Beach the advice is to arrive early. This is a popular place and it does get pretty busy. For safety reasons the park will close when it gets to capacity - so as the saying goes arrive early to avoid disappointment!

The Magic of Walt Disney World

These are the words of Walt Disney talking about his most famous character Mickey Mouse - the one who started it all...........

"Mickey Mouse is, to me, a symbol of independence. He was a means to an end. He popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad . . . on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb and disaster seemed right around the corner. Born of necessity, the little fellow literally freed us of immediate worry. He provided the means for expanding our organization . . . and for extending the medium of cartoon animation toward new entertainment levels. He spelled production liberation for us."
