On selected days at each park Disney resort guests can enter the park, or stay in the park, for extra hours outside of the opening hours for the general public.

Think of Disney World and you think of Cinderella's Castle. So what are some of it's secrets?
It is 189 feet tall but looks much larger. How do they do this? By using a technique known as forced perspective. This is where the Disney Imagineers play with scale in the real world to make things look bigger.
So the homes on Main Street are not actual size although they appear to be. Look closely and you will see that the stories get smaller as they go up. Having them actual size would make guests fell too enclosed. This trick of scale also helps make Cinderella's Castle look bigger. The bricks get smaller as you go up the castle, and the architectural details are all smaller than you expect. You have to look very very closely though to see the reality!

This will be a fabulous finale to your trip to Disney's Magic Kingdom. This fireworks display really shows Disney to be the leader in theme park entertainment. From Tinkerbell's daring flight to the amazing music and fireworks this truly is Disney at it's best.

The end of the fireworks means thousands of people leaving the park. All at the same time. Now remember that the only way to get back to the parking lot is either by boat or monorail. So if getting home quickly is important think about watching the fireworks from Main Street - so that you are ahead of the crowds. Then walk quickly, or if you still have the energy, run to the monorail or boat. Otherwise you may have a very long wait in line!
Another idea is to save your shopping until the end of the day. The Disney World Main Street stores will still be open ( and usually crowded) until well after park closing.

Following the success but realizing the limitations, of Disneyland, Walt Disney set his sights to building a whole new Disney World. Walt Disney bought 27,443 acres for a little over $5 million. The price per acre was around $180. Speculation was rife as to who was buying all that land. Following Walt's press conference announcement the price of the surrounding land went to $80,000 per acre.

This is one of the little known Disney secrets - there is a parade on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. To see it you have to go out of Magic Kingdom. It is an electric light show on board barges which travel around the lagoon at 9pm. Most people miss it, but try and make some time in your vacation to see it!

Florida has great weather but of course it does rain sometimes! But Disney thinks of everything. They even build systems into their attractions to keep guests as comfortable as possible and avoid the elements.
Space Ship Earth, the giant geodesic dome which dominates EPCOT is fitted with a gutter system at the belt line of the sphere. This catches the rain water and funnels it into the World Showcase Lagoon. Those people at Disney really do think of everything!
