Planning YOUR Orlando Vacation
There are several ways of getting to Orlando, whether you choose to travel by train, bus, airplane, or simply pack up the car and hit the road. Some people prefer to load up a van and spend some quality time with the family on a nice road-trip to Orlando, Florida while others want to get here as quickly as possible and travel by airplane. Orlando International Airport is a major hub for virtually all commercial air carriers, and flying into Orlando is an extremely convenient method of transportation when visiting Walt Disney World®. Trains are another option, and with gas prices rising again, it may actually be something you will want to look into. Timeshare tours will bring you down to Orlando, give you free or heavily-discounted theme park tickets, and require 4-6 hours of your time to view their properties. Once you have figured out how to get to Orlando, Florida for your retreat to Disney World, it is then time to discover the many places for you and your loved ones to stay.
Being one of the top tourist destinations in the world, Orlando has plenty of different options on where to stay. Whether you like the privacy of a vacation home off the main grounds of the theme park resorts, or if you like being in the middle of the action, there is a massive amount of lodging options available everywhere. Disney hotels are great if you're looking for that royal, VIP treatment and need to be close to the theme parks. Vacation homes are typically not as close to the theme parks, but you will have the privacy of your own home and not have to deal with crowded lobbies and noise. There are also non-Disney hotels which offer a little bit of something for everyone, and are suited to fit a variety of needs and vacation desires. Now that the plan on where to stay while in Orlando is in place, it is time to figure out the different ways to save on the cost of this trip.
In order to enjoy your Orlando vacation, we recommend that you create a plan for saving money during this trip. Planning a budget to figure out a way of cutting costs is essential and you should look for discounts as often as possible. An excellent idea is to figure out a safe and convenient way to handle your money during your vacation. Several options are available to you such as: traveler's checks, Walt Disney® dollars, or charging the majority of your trip in advance with a credit card. When you come to Orlando, make sure that everything is in place for you to enjoy your vacation to the fullest. Look for discounts on hotels, restaurants, and the best values on theme park attraction tickets. We recommend multi-day passes for the parks as you will get much more bang for your buck through discount multi-day passes.
Once in Orlando, you have to figure out how to get around town. Transportation is important as you will be traveling to and from your hotel to places such as theme parks, restaurants, dinner show attractions, and back to the airport. There are many options to choose from such as: rental cars, shuttle buses, taxi cabs, and you can walk on foot if you are close enough to the attractions. The weather in Florida is typically warm, so packing shorts and sunscreen is a must. Most of the Orlando theme parks and attractions are located in Southwest Orlando (Universal®) or Lake Buena Vista. Dining options are plentiful and you will have no problem finding a great meal for the family on any given night. Getting around Orlando is a cinch, and depending on where your hotel or condo is located, everything you will want to see is within a 15 minute drive from your starting point
