Welcome. As a professional photographer I sometimes find myself helping people out on a tight budget. A list of ideas to help save you money on your wedding photography and to have more fun in the process. Are you on a tight budget and still what some great photography done for your wedding then here is a easy and fun way to do it. Here is a way to get all the photos you need for your wedding and do it for less than $1000.00
The Photo of the two brothers was taken with a disposable camera.
10 Fast Image Ideas
Ask your professional photographer and your wedding guests to take images of the following.
1. Your Flowers
2. Hands, Fingers, Feet and Toes
3. The Decor
4. The Reception Tables
5. All of your Guests
6. The Rings
7. Your Shoes, Dress and Vail
8. The Reception Location
9. The Wedding Location (inside and outside)
10. Tell everyone to just have fun.
Keep in mind that its OK to have a professional take your wedding photography, but be a wise shopper, Ask a lot of questions of your photographer, Ask to see a large sample of photos including photos taken outside of weddings IE landscapes and portraits, check out the photographers web site, if you are dealing with a large company make sure that you get the person you ask for and not someone else on your wedding day. Make sure that you get a copy of everything, all photography on a CD or DVD, A good photographer will take more photographs than are needed, ask how many photos will be taken during your event, if they say 600 or less find a new photographer. You would like to see 1500 or more photos taken during your weeding day. Always have a back up, always ask family and friends to take lots of photos for you, and don't forget to place a disposable camera on every reception table!Save Money on Your Wedding Photography
And Have Fun Doing it!
Save Money on Wedding PhotographyI am sure that many wedding photographers well be very unhappy with me, but lets face it if you want to spend 1k, 5k, 10k or even 20k for wedding photography and photo books be my guest.
But for someone on a tight budget or if your just want to do something fun and something that will not cost you an arm and two legs then here you go.
Use a 35mm disposable camera with flash!
A low cost idea that will save you money in the long run.
Idea Number 1
Let the wedding party take the photos.
From the Bride getting dressed and the Groom doing the same give everyone in the wedding party including the parents, and guests staying with you a 35mm disposable film camera.
They can take photos of the wedding party getting ready, getting the brides hair and makeup done, getting dressed, leaving for the church, waiting for the ceremony to start.
Make sure that you have a collection point one member of the family who will collect all of the used cameras and keep them in a safe place.
The more people get involved the more fun that they will have.
Idea Number 2
Let the Guest take the Photos
Let your guest take photos during the wedding ceremony, as each of your guest walk into the Church or Wedding location hand them a disposable camera and let them go at it.
You never know what you will see! But the best part is that everyone will have a good time and they will all try to take a great photograph for you. I am sure that you will end up with twenty different views of the big kiss vs. 10 shots from the pros.
Make sure that you have a box at the exit from your wedding event to collect the disposable cameras.
Idea Number 3
The Reception
Place several disposable cameras on each table, attach a note to each one so that your guest will get involved to help make memories of your wedding "This camera is for you to capture the moments that make us smile, click away while we dance for a second or two and remember to toss the camera in the box when you are through."
What can you except?
When we did this for our wedding we placed disposable cameras on all of the tables at our reception. We used 2-3 cameras per table plus we left some extras out by the dance floor, the wedding cake, and with the food service staff.
For about every 100 photographs taken by your guests you will be happy with about 10% that does not sound like much but the same is true if a professional does the job. The average disposable camera will have 27 exposures on it.
Most professionals will take about 2000 photos per wedding and out of that about 200 are where the real money is.
In the end you will have more photos to choose from for your wedding album.
What's the Cost?
The cost for disposable cameras with flash on the web runs from $1.85 and up.
The cost to develop the film runs from 8 cents per print to 25 cents per print and to make a CD will run from $1.99 and Up.
It's best to make prints and have the CD as a back up.
So if the average cost for the Pros is about $3000.00 The average cost to buy Disposable Cameras with a Flash is about $225 for 100 cameras with 27 exposures that's 2,700 photos. Plus the cost to develop and have CD's made is about $545. (That's about 9 cents per print and $2.99 per CD) So for less than $800.00 plus tax you have many images that will last a life time.
What to spend less reduce the amount of cameras you plan on using.
Good Luck and Happy Clicking. Flash, Blink.
