Importing Essential Oils - It Starts With Distiller
Personally working with international distillers has given us a deep appreciation for the amount of work involved in getting each little bottle of essential oil to the customer. The farmers plant their fields with the aromatic crops, farm without the use of chemicals, harvest the plants, distill the oils, and finally make those essential oils available for us to purchase and use. Each step of this process requires years of knowledge, precise attention, hard physical labor, and a love of plants.
We have traveled internationally to meet the farmers who have taken the time to learn the art of cultivating and distilling aromatic plants. Each plant is distilled at a different temperature, and for differing lengths of time. It takes an enormous amount of plant material to distill small amounts of essential oil. Growing, harvesting, and distilling essential oils is a true science and art, and a blessing for those of us who treasure these oils in our personal lives.

Buying from the Best
It's crucial to be able to trust your source when you're purchasing essential oils. Unpure or poor quality oils can trigger rashes, headaches, and allergic reactions. Beyond that, they just don't have the same vibrant, healthy aroma that pure oils do.Make sure you know what you're getting. The best way to do this is through GC/MS testing and reporting. But not all of us understand the science behind this, so you can also take time to find out more about the distillers who are bringing you the oils. When you work with a retailer, make sure they can give you all the info. Send personal emails and ask for more details.
It's also important to remember that quality does come with a price. If you find cheap oils in a store or online, it's unlikely that you're just getting an amazing deal. What you're probably getting is a cheaper oil in every sense of the word. Buyer beware!
