Art of Noshir Jesung

I want to show in this lens how I complete a painting . I first do some thumbnail sketches then I do the detail figure work and finally I decide on different color schemes. I like to use vibrant colors. I then draw the outline on canvas or paper depending on the media.

Noshir Jesung's Art at Yazdaan Arts

My painting style is distinctive in vibrant colors. Since this is my first Lens I am checking to see how I can present what I want to show.

My Still Life Paintings

Historical Paintings

I like Still Life, since it provides me with a tranquil feeling, My Still Life paintings are based on Chiarusco, bringing out light from the dark. My Still Life paintings are bright and eye catching. I also do landscapes and Sea Scapes which will depict the feeling of solitude.

I have recently turned my attention to historical paintings from Shah Name, a Persian Epic. I aim to do these paintings in the style of old Masters rather than the Islamic style which the current Shah Name paintings are depicted.

Thumbnail Sketches

Christ Lowered from Cross

I decided to do a watercolor painting of Christ lowered from the cross. I did some thumbnail sketches and I selected this thumbnail to do the painting. I had only 5 figures and one cross showing in this thumbnail and in the next sketch I included two more figures and two more crosses.
I did a value study in a larger sketch.

Refined Sketch

Value Study

This is what my refined sketch looked like with proper values. The composition also looks great so I will copy this to my final Drawing paper.

Color value study in Water color

Christ Lowered from Cross

Since I made this painting for my aunt's church in India, I adjusted the figures of women to show on a more Indian style so they can relate it better.
The background is not painted yet, since I want the painting to show up from the background.

Final version with Background

Christ Lowered from the Cross

I finally painted the background to show off the figures. I also showed a reflection of the Cross in a water puddle to show off the other kingdom. I also wanted to keep the painting on a brighter side so the background was painted bright.

Large Historical Paintings

Shah-Name Paintings

Some of my large painting takes more details sometimes as much as 25 characters. So each character has to be developed and based on the composition the colors are rendered.
The following painting is of the Armenians in the court of King Kaikhushroo. This is from a story of Bijan and Manijeh. Most of the times I draw the figures in the nude and then draw the clothes on them which would make it more realistic.
