I think that Slipknot is better, because they don't just do heavy rock, like disturbed does. but slipknot also does light rock, as an example "slipknot- snuff" they don't scream or anything like that, and you'll never hear a song by disturbed where there isn't screaming

The Sickness
The Sickness is Disturbed's debut album. It was recorded in the winter of 1999 and released on March 7, 2000. Unlike their later albums, which are mixed in style, The Sickness consists primarily of heavier, more aggressive tracks. With over 3 million copies sold, it is the band's most successful album. Believe
Believe is Disturbed's second full album, recorded in Spring 2002 and released on September 17, 2002. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it Disturbed's first #1 debut so far. The album also sold 284,000 copies in its first week. There was also a limited edition release issued with a supplementary DVD and deluxe packaging. The album was recorded in only six weeks. This album has also been released as a DVD-Audio disc. It contains the album in MLP 5.1 channel surround (96kHz/24-bit) and MLP 2.0 (192kHz/24-bit) stereo sound. For backwards compatibility with non DVD-A players, it also contains 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS. In addition the disc contains the video for "Prayer", behind-the-scenes excerpts from the "Prayer" video shoot, footage of the band recording Believe in the studio, and 15 minutes of highlights from Disturbed's home video DVD M.O.L..
This album can also be interpreted as a concept album pertaining to religion and its effect on people. The album cover is a culmination of many religious symbols including Paganism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. On the album are a Star of David, a Pentagram, a Crescent Moon, and a Cross all superimposed on each other.
Ten Thousand Fists
Ten Thousand Fists is the third studio album by American rock band Disturbed. It was released on September 20, 2005 - three years and three days after the release of their previous album Believe. It became Disturbed's 2nd straight #1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart as well as their second #1 album in New Zealand. It also reached #2 in Canada, #11 in Australia, #21 in Germany, #37 in Austria, #59 in the UK, and #62 in Switzerland. The album was certified 2x Platinum in June, 2007. It is also the first Disturbed album to not feature a "Parental Advisory Sticker".The track "Guarded" was released to rock and metal stations in late June as a teaser, and the fully promoted first single "Stricken" was released on July 20, 2005, and was the theme song for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)'s pay-per-view New Year's Revolution on January 8, 2006. The 2nd single from the album was "Just Stop". The album also features a cover of the song "Land of Confusion", orginially written by Genesis. The song became the third single from the album, and the band worked with Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo on the video (renowned comic book artists responsible for Ten Thousand Fists album cover).
Interestingly, a restricted-release disc was apparently compromised, and the album became available on the BitTorrent network on July 27, 2005 at 11:47 AM, fifty-five days before the officially scheduled release. Most BitTorrent sites, however, have since blocked searches for the album after requests from the copyright holder, citing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The disc had alternate spellings for some of the song titles: "Overburdend" and "Sacred Life" (as opposed to the actual track names "Overburdened" and "Sacred Lie").
The widely known "fan club edition" of the album never existed. An error made by marketing and website staff enabled the posting of the information of a "fan club edition" that would supposedly contain two bonus tracks. This CD does not, in fact, exist due to the aforementioned errors.
A "Special Edition" of the album was published and came with the CD and a book of illustrations by McFarlane and Capullo (in the standard release the eight page CD booklet also featured their illustrations as well but not to the extent that the special edition book includes). The CD cover had a black background instead of the orange/brown gradient background on the cover of the standard release.
The song "Decadence" was featured in the video game Need for Speed: Most Wanted, while "Stricken" was featured in New Years Revolution 2006 and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
Indestructible
Indestructible is the upcoming fourth studio album by American alternative metal band Disturbed. The band had kept quiet about the album to the public, although the band's MySpace page and official website were both updated, stating that they were currently in studio recording and that they were busy writing new songs for the album. The album is currently set to be released on June 3, 2008.

Slipknot
Slipknot is the first studio album by American metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 29, 1999 by Roadrunner Records, and later reissued in December 1999 with a slightly altered track listing and mastering, as a result of lawsuit. It was the first album by the band to be produced by Ross Robinson, who sought to refine Slipknot's sound rather than alter the group's musical direction. The album spans many genres, but is generally noted for its extensive percussion and overall heavy sound. Slipknot was well received by fans and critics alike and was responsible for bringing Slipknot a large increase in popularity. The album peaked at number 51 on the Billboard 200, and has gone on to become certified double platinum in the United States, making it the band's best selling album.
Iowa
Iowa is the second studio album by American metal band Slipknot. It was released on August 28, 2001 by Roadrunner Records. It was the last album by the band to be produced by Ross Robinson. The album's title is derived from the band's home state of Iowa. There was much anticipation for the band's second album following the success of their 1999 self-titled debut, resulting in Iowa premiering in top ten album sales in nine countries. Positively received by both fans and critics alike, the album included many of the band's hits including "Left Behind" and "My Plague", which were both nominated for a Grammy Award in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Critic John Molvey hailed the album as the "absolute triumph of nu metal." While more technical than their debut, Iowa is also considered to be the band's heaviest album. The album has been certified platinum in Canada and the United States.
Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) is the third studio album by American metal band Slipknot. It was released on May 25, 2004 by Roadrunner Records, and a special edition, containing a bonus disc, was released on April 12, 2005. It is the band's only album produced by Rick Rubin.Following the band's tour to promote its second album in 2002, speculation regarding the future began. Some band members had already been involved in side projects including Murderdolls, To My Surprise, and the reformation of Stone Sour. However, in 2003, Slipknot moved into The Mansion to work on the album. Initially, the band was unproductive; lead vocalist Corey Taylor was drinking heavily. Nevertheless, they wrote more than enough material for a new album-the band's first to incorporate more traditional, melodic song structures and acoustic guitars.
The album received generally positive reviews. Slipknot was praised by Allmusic for its "dedication to making it a Slipknot album", while Q added that the album was "a triumph". The album peaked within the top ten in album sales across eleven countries, and went Platinum in the United States. The band also received the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the single "Before I Forget".
All Hope Is Gone
All Hope Is Gone is the fourth studio album by American metal band Slipknot. It is scheduled for release as early as August 20, 2008, by Roadrunner Records. A special edition of the album will contain three exclusive bonus tracks, and will be packaged in a six-fold digipak with a 40-page deluxe booklet and bonus DVD containing a documentary of the album's conception.Noted to have begun preparation in 2007, recording was due to begin in January 2008, but was pushed back to February. It will be the band's first studio release since 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), making All Hope Is Gone their fourth studio album as well as the first musical output from the band since Corey Taylor and Jim Root's mainstream success with Stone Sour, Joey Jordison's stints with Korn, Ministry and 3 Inches of Blood, Shawn Crahan's side project Dirty Little Rabbits and Sid Wilson's solo project. All Hope Is Gone is also the band's first studio album on a major label to be recorded in their home state of Iowa.
