This church isn't about a set of beliefs or a doctrine.  It's about believing in your creative essence--that spark that ignites your passions.  I happen to believe that everyone is creative.  If you think you're not or if your spark has grown dim, come along.  We're a community of like-minded souls who encourage each other to shine.  There's nothing required to be a 'member' of this 'church'...just the desire to be a divine sparkler!

My Musings

Sparklers
"This church has nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with creative essence. And when I say "creative" I'm not referring to what we traditionally think of as being limited to art-makers. I truly believe we can create the lives we want to have...Our Divine Spark community isn't about a set of beliefs--it's simply about believing in the best, sparkliest version of YOU."

Here's the blog post that inspired the name of this lens.
Joy
"No matter what tragedy has befallen us individually or as a society, we can always look for and experience joy. And all too often we forget that."
Digging
"...those meetings became like an archaeological dig for me--I was finding pieces of myself there. And it was thrilling."

Some quotes about the subject of this lens...
Lesson Plan
A few lessons I've learned in my first 50 years...
Role Call
"So my lesson for the day is to embrace all the parts of me. I tend to want to excise those parts I don't care for--that don't nourish me in the way that I crave to be nourished. But I suppose that's a bit like saying I don't really need all 10 toes...I'll just cut off the ones I want people to stop labeling me with. I may not use my toes individually, but it's a lot easier to stand and walk with all 10 in place."
Action!
If only we could see the 'big picture' before re-acting with negative emotions during certain moments...
Three of Wands
"This is it, pal. That sounds so fatalistic, but somehow, oddly, it feels the opposite. It feels freeing. Like I'm off the hook. Like I can breathe a big sigh of relief. Like I no longer have to wait. Because waiting's a bitch, and I'm not a patient person to begin with. I don't know about you, but the Perfect Life Fairy still hasn't been by my house and I've been waiting 50 years."
Sole Food
"Yet how lovely that those traumatic moments can be used later as touchstones."
Borders
"...in my more lucid moments I'm able to not view things in the context of sides (or borders)--how I'm able to look at it as if we're all standing in a large circle. We might all be looking at an issue that's in the center of the circle, but our perspective on it will be different from the perspective of someone who's standing right next to us in the circle. It's about accepting others' right to have their unique perception."
Shifting
"...maybe it's not so much that the hallway is inky dark as it is that we simply don't have our eyes fully open."
Blackberry Jungle
This post, more than any other, tells my story.

I care less about what we do to make a living than about what we live to make our doing.

I blog at The Land of Moo and post poetry at Moojo Cafe...
