Learn to Look at Challenges in a Positive Way
If I find that I am perplexed about a given situation, then I will take on a questioning stance. I ask myself "What if this?" and "What if that?" I explore the situation and try to discern a deeper meaning. I attempt to see a higher purpose for my confusion. What if there is a hidden profound meaning in the seemingly impending gloom?
Here I am, an educator, a public speaker and facilitator - and I have laryngitis. I cannot speak and speaking is what I do.
So, I wrote to my close friend for advice and venting:
"What does it mean when a speaker can't speak? Is there something hidden in me that wants to break free? Should I attempt to clear my communication channels through the use of self-Reiki? Maybe I should ask my spirit guides for assistance. Have I lost my voice because I am speaking on the wrong topics? Am I afraid of success? Can you help me to understand why I have fallen ill? Am I inadvertently sabotaging my own desires and wishes? Please help!"
My down-to-earth friend responded just as I needed her to. She stated simply:
"You are ill because you are a human and sometimes that happens."
I am a human. Wow! That resonated deeply within me. Maybe finding our divine purpose is as simple as recognizing that we are human. Hmm, can it be so simplistic?
We sometimes forget that living is a moment-by-moment endeavor. Sometimes we get lost in trying too hard to figure everything out. Sometimes we get sick and can't perform in the way that we need to. Sometimes we just get run down. Sometimes we just catch a bug.
Well, I am still sick. I still can't speak. I have been in bed for a few days now resting and just taking care of myself. I am allowed to be sick. I am allowed to be human. I am living in my human state and therefore experiencing my divine purpose.
I learned a lot from this and came up with these seven questions to ask yourself the next time that you may fall ill:
1) Am I overtaxed physically?
2) Is my body telling me something that I need to know?
3) If this illness were my friend, what would it be saying to me?
4) What is the best thing for me right now?
5) What would I advise my friend to do if he/she were to have this same illness?
6) Could this illness be for my own good?
7) What can I do to find joy right now?
Sometimes we need to look at seemingly adverse situations from a positive light. Not everything that seems negative is. It is all in your personal perception. You can find advantages in every situation - even illness. Just because you are not able to act upon your first impulse doesn't necessarily mean that there is no goodness or joy to be gained.

Consider Your Dreams
I dreamt last night that I was flying high above the Earth in a small airplane. I had no safety harness on and I suddenly felt very afraid. I panicked! I grabbed onto the steering wheel and pulled it, pushed it and turned it in every way that I could manage to - trying to slow the plane. I wanted to be on the solid ground. I wanted the danger to end!
The plane did not slow down tough. It didn't crash either. It sailed on through the air and I began to relax. I let go of the wheel.
As soon as I relinquished my attempted control, I was able to see that there was a pilot on board as well. I hadn't seen him until now. He didn't speak my language. He took the plane higher. He made it go faster - a lot faster. We soared through the skies higher and faster than I had ever imagined possible- and all was safe.
I awakened feeling strange. Could this analogous of my life?
Can this be an analogy of your life?

Spark Your Intuition in 4 Easy Steps
Sometimes it really seems difficult to stay connected. With that in mind, I will endeavor to teach what I need to learn. These five tips should spark your intuition and keep it flowing:
%uF0D8 It's always good to keep a small notebook handy. When you sense that you are experiencing an intuitive hit, just jot it down. Don't give a lot of thought to it. Sometimes our intuition works in mysterious ways. Go back periodically and read your notes. Many times, you will find great ideas that you would have otherwise forgotten. Don't judge!
%uF0D8 To differentiate between a truly intuitive hit and just a "should" or "ought to", take a minute to consider the potential hit. If it is valuable, you should have no problem coming up with at least three or more good reasons to pursue it further. Delve into your motives - explore your reasoning. If you deem it a true intuitive hit, then write it down in your handy notebook.
%uF0D8 Test and develop your intuition by predicting who is calling on the telephone even as it is ringing (no cheating with caller ID!). It is a fun game to play and will actually increase your intuitive skills over time. It will help you to tune in!
%uF0D8 When your day seems to be going poorly, grab your notebook and write down what advice you think that a close friend or relative would give you to help. Don't think - just write. What would they say to you to help you get back on track? Write it down quickly and do not edit it. When you're done, you will probably have some great advice to consider.
Even though I have been a little doubtful of my own intuition this past week, I continue to reach for my notebook and jot down my (possibly) intuitive thoughts. Your intuition is your own inner voice - your constant companion that helps to guide you through this life. Sometimes you follow it and sometimes you don't. Your intuition is like a muscle; when you actively work it, it strengthens.
Embrace the power of your inner guide: Embrace and develop your intuition!

4 Tips to Help You Determine Your Divine Purpose
1) Ask yourself. Nobody knows you better than you do. What makes you the happiest? What has given you the most satisfaction throughout your life? Be honest. Answer from your heart, not from guilt.
2) Ask your loved ones (close loved ones). Your mom, your spouse, and your children: ask them. They may notice things about you that you don't.
3) Try something new. If there is something that is tickling the back of your mind, explore it. Read about it. Learn about it. Attempt to do it. See how it feels to you. Your divine purpose may be just an experiment away!
4) Volunteer. Donate some of your time to a community resource like: an old age home; an animal shelter; a community clean up; a program to teach people to read, etc. Volunteers often find great satisfaction and turn that passion into a life endeavor.
Your divine purpose is out there waiting for you to discover it. It is up to you to explore the possibilities and uncover it.

Learn to Trust Yourself First
People ask me regularly what I think that they should do with their lives. Of course, I do my best to assist them, but sometimes they expect too much of me. I am a facilitator. I am an advisor. The decision must still lie with them as individuals responsible for their own destinies. They must be the ones who ultimately decide what their divine purposes are.
Now, I don't mind and of course I politely and professionally redirect them. When they come to understand that they have to be in charge of themselves, that's when I know that I have done my job correctly. It empowers them! It liberates them! They remember how it feels to be confident - how to decide what is best for them and abide by it relentlessly.
Always trust your instincts and intuition first in life - above all else. That is how to discover your divine purpose!
Trust Yourself First!
