Take the official definition of the Twentieth Century: 01 January 1901 to 31 December 2000 at Greenwich England, and then divide that span of time into 666 equal slices. What was happening right as the 666th slice began? Voters were gathering in several small towns, including Dixville Notch, New Hampshire to cast the first votes in the 2000 Presidential Election right at the stroke of midnight Tuesday November 7th. Within a couple of hours, those first votes, for candidates Bush, Gore and Nader, were all cast and counted. This is not the only uncanny phenomenon involving these candidates, past US Presidents, and the number 666. And furthermore, not all of it is scary . . . there's a message of hope as well.

Numerous American Presidents have been branded by someone or another as the Antichrist, or at least as the bearer of the Number of the Beast. Below are links to two such claims.

- Hmm, hasn't another "William Jefferson" also been in the news lately? Actually, this site has to shorten the middle name to the letter J to make its 666 gematria work out: William J Clinton adds up in both Greek and in Hebrew. Right before the round of websurfing where I came across this site, the last face and voice I saw and heard on the TV (on CNN talking about AIDS) was that of old "42" himself!
Sixth Day of the Sixth Month of the Sixth Year
Ordinal Dating from moment the Supreme Court's 5-4 Bush v Gore decision was announced.
Suppose we take an ordinal view, rather than the usual cardinal-number tally, of the time elapsed since the Supreme Court's Bush v Gore decision of December 12, 2000. In ordinal time, this decision marks the First Day of the First Month of the First Year of an epoch during which George W. Bush knew with certainty he was the next president, while Albert I. Gore knew with equal certainty that he was not.

- Al Gore was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday May 17th 2006 for a National Geographic Society screening of his film "An Inconvenient Truth" before a select audience which included Queen Noor of Jordan. In the Ordinal Dating system, this was the Sixth Day of the Sixth Month of the Sixth Year of the epoch of his life during which he knew he would not become America's 43rd President.
Al Gore was, during the intervening years, a "voice crying out in the wilderness" delivering his Global Warming presentation some 1000 times. Now, he has suddenly emerged as a sort of 21st Century prophet, no longer in obscurity, and no longer considered a radical extremist for his emphasis on this most vital planetary issue. - Bit of Lincoln Seen in Bush Lately
- A seemingly never-ending skid in the polls had, as of May 17th, begun to turn around as Bush scored a home run with Chris Matthews and others for his recent Press Conference with Tony Blair. At mid-year it was reasonable to specualate that a cloud of obscurity had hung over Al Gore while a cloud of adversity lay over George W. Bush, only to be lifted once the ordinal Sixth Day of the Sixth Month of the Sixth Year finally arrived. Since then, however, Al Gore has become less prominent on the national stage while the President's approval ratings have fallen to new lows.

This module was higher up in this lens back in June, but remains pertinent now with the Dow reaching new record highs, something forecast by Elliott Wave theory as a necessary precursor to the next major economic downturn. But what, you may ask, is the connection with the number 666? Well, just about all of us grew up reading and watching sales ads touting "Only 9.99" or "Only 999 dollars." It happens that every time you did so, the incoming image was flipped over by your eye's lens on the way to the retina, where it registered upside down on your optic nerve as 666. Conquer the Crash: You Can Survive and Prosper in a Deflationary Depression, Expanded and Updated Edition
This leading proponent of Elliott Wave theory forecast a deflationary depression as likely after the stock market mania of the late 1990s, but did make mention of the possibility that a further recovery of the Dow to new highs might take place first. Now that this has indeed occurred, his cogent and well written analysis is very much worth rereading, or reading for the first time.
