Your In Ground Swimming Pool Awaits

We all rely on our specialists to do things for us. But, they hold the key. They can charge whatever they want to charge and either we pay or we don't get those things we want. A pool is no different.

You can go to a huge department store and find yourself anything from a baby pool to a nice size three footer that will hold about ten people at the most. That's one way to avoid the high cost of an in-ground pool. It cools you off and does the job.

But, what if you really want an in ground pool? Now, you're looking back to the specialists and hoping that you won't have to sell a lung to pay for it. You have two kids and your other half staring at you with hope in their eyes while you look through your budget and see if it can happen.

That is until now. I have come up with an idea that is a total do-it-yourself brainstorm and you'll find that it's easier than you can imagine. Actually, it's nothing special. It's just that all the construction workers and pool salespeople throughout the world would have you believe that you need them to install your pool. But, think about it! What is a pool? It's a hole in the ground with water in it...read more

The do it yourself in ground swimming pool is easier than you think.  Pool installation experts will hire people themselves and charge you outlandish finder fees along with equipment, labor and supplies.  You can hire a landscaper and an electrician when you need them.  The rest you can do on your own.  If you can do anything creative or constructive, you can do your pool on your own.

What You'll Need

Getting Started

The reason most people are skeptical of doing anything for themselves is because it seems like such a huge undertaking. It's also a little scary because isn't that why experts are around? If we have experts, we surely can't do it for ourselves can we? Change that thinking around. Many of these so-called experts are just like anything else, capitalizing on your lack of knowledge.

Have you ever looked at what really goes into installing an in ground pool? You've probably seen expensive designer ones that might have been as much to install as the mortgage on your home. Massive filtering systems that keep the pool free of any clutter. Concrete structures master landscapers formed with their own hands. It's all overwhelming when you think of doing it yourself. Well, let's take a look!

Filter Systems

Filters can certainly be huge industrial strength pieces of equipment if you want. But, a great filter that does wonders for the "back yard" swimming pool can be purchased for around $350. They rotate about 25,000 gallons of water every eight hours, which is just fine for your pool. They have intake valves and an output pump that does all the work. Run your hoses where you want them and you are finished.

Lining

Liners are the same way. Most of us have seen the concrete swimming pools and we wonder how much work was involved into something like that. Of course, it was expensive! That's why years ago, some genius came up with fiberglass. Fiberglass is great and it is cost effective. I certainly thought it was the answer until I jumped into a swimming pool one day and felt lining. I had never thought of that as a solution, but it's perfectly viable. You can get lining made to your own specifications and install it yourself as easy as that!

Now, do you really think that there's anything more to it? You're there. You have your pool. Almost, my guide teaches you the rest.

The Dream Maker Portable Spa

One day, I'll write another how-to on installing a spa right beside your in ground swimming pool. But for now, this portable spa is a great addition to your in ground swimming pool. Get a glass of tea and climb in, there's plenty of rest and relaxation in there. Click right on the picture and go check one out for yourself.

Using Your Imagination

Being as Extravagant as You Want

Imagination is the only thing holding you back. You can put a simple hole in the ground, lay some lining over it, and call it a day if you want. But, look at all the choices you have when it comes to installing your own pool.

One of the simplest and yet best looking additions to your pool is the waterfall. When you take your time and have fun with what you are doing, you can have a spectacular looking waterfall that runs filtered water back into the pool. The noise a waterfall makes is so tranquil. Plus, if you make the stream big enough to be fun, swimmers love sitting underneath the water and letting it stream all over them. When you are planning your pool, add a little thought to your waterfall before you begin the landscaping portion. But, if you already have your swimming pool installed, waterfalls can easily be added. Just use your imagination!

Another great thing to have is seating. People love sitting in water. They don't always have to swim or stand around looking over the edge. Of course, cost effective solutions are to buy seats that float on the water. But while you are in the planning stages of your pool, think about the kind of permanent seating you can provide. And while you're at it, have you ever thought of how beautiful a pool can get when you really use your imagination!

I love when I see nice pool additions or structures and I know that I can do it all myself. A little planning and ingenuity is all it takes to cut costs and come out looking like a winner. If you haven't got the message yet, just use your imagination!
