DJ Speakers

If your in the dj business or thinking about getting into the dj business, its important to know what kind of speakers you will need for your mobile dj gigs. Now let me stress your club setting is a little different then your mobile dj setting since you will have to carry around these heavy speakers so get a nice dolly to do the job.

Below I will discuss what type of speakers for the beginner and then you can grow from there. Having a good set of dj speakers will not only provide a long time of enjoyment but no disappointments with home speakers for long hours of play. Last but not least reinvest some money into your business. So get an extra pair of speakers when you got the money to spare.

Also down below I found a few videos that talk about the mechanics of how a dj speaker works and the different types of speakers available for the mobile dj.

Mobile DJ lighting recommendations
These are some of my recommendations for lighting for small set ups for beginners. You don't have to spend a lot to get started with a dj lighting kit. I will also provide some tips as well.

What are self powered speakers for DJs

If you don't want to hassle with an amplifier this in my opinion is the easiest way to go. Notice I didn't say it was the best way to go but the easiest.
Its easy because if your doing small to mid size parties you can still crank out the juice from your dj speakers without having to fumble through wires and connections from your amplifier to your speakers. Below are my recommendations.

Tip: Make sure your speakers are behind your set up if you can. You don't want to place your dj speakers in front of your set up which is a classic mobile dj mistake. You don't want kids bumping into your speakers so try to place them where they are less intrusive.

Self powered DJ Speakers

Now your looking at the price and your saying wow that's to much but let me tell you from experience. If you buy cheap speakers your going to get cheap speakers. The last thing you want is your speakers to blow on you. JBLs is pretty much the standard in my opinion for dj speakers. Dont take my word for it but you can ask around. What I like about these is you connect them into your mixer and your ready to play your music for your audience.

Mackies are pretty awesome as well. I'm a HUGE fan of the Mackie SRM450 2-way series and the Mackie SWA1501 and SWA1801 subs!! They hit nice and hard XD
