DMB set to launch studio album June 2
Dave Matthews Band concluded their month long spring arena tour in Las Vegas on May 9 and after a short break are getting ready to launch their summer tour on May 27 in Darien Center, NY.
The band is excited about releasing their first studio album in 4 years and probably their most proud work yet, having dedicated the album to their late founding member, LeRoi Moore, who passed away last summer after an ATV accident on his farm in Charlottesville, VA.
Although most of the recording for Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King happened after his death, the band incorporated as much of LeRoi's work as possible. The album's producer, Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), mentions this in an interview with Billboard. "We created a giant ProTools file that had all of his parts, even if he was just tinkering around during a demo phase off-mic," said producer Rob Cavallo . "We scoured the hard drives to find all of these moments he had."

This is a very emotional album for the members of the band, having poured every ounce of creativity into this album in LeRoi's memory. DMB to Perform Benefit Concert June 1
Live at Beacon Theatre NYC - will stream Live on Hulu
On the eve of the global release of their new album, Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King, DMB will perform a live show at the Beacon Theatre in New York city. All proceeds will go directly to the band's Bama Works Fund and other charitable foundations in the Charlottesville, VA area.This concert will also mark the first ever live concert stream on Hulu.com. At 9pm EST on June 1st, Hulu will deliver the Beacon Theatre show live to fans at home for free via a live video stream. Fans can visit Hulu.com on June 1st for details.
DMB Performing on NBC's TODAY Show
June 5
On Friday, June 5th, Dave Matthews Band will be performing on the NBC Today Show in Rockefeller Plaza in NYC. This is a first for the band, never having performed on a morning television show before.For locals or tourists who will be in town on this date, the stage will be set up on 49th St in Rockefeller Plaza outside the TODAY Show windows.
