Let's face it, not everyone has a couple of thousand dollars or an entire room to devote to a home gym.In addition, there a lot of us that like to travel and its inconvenient to take a set of dumbbells, kettle bells, or any of the more popular home gyms such as Bowflex Or Total Gym.

That's why so many individuals have chosen to purchase resistance tubing. In the past most individuals thought that resistance bands were for women only. However, therapists, fitness trainers and bodybuilders have used resistance bands as part of their workout and bodybuilding program for years.

Recently for example, Terrell Owens, the NFL wide receiver, revealed that for years he has been using exercise bands instead of free weights.

So, if you're interested in finding a home gym that will allow you to perform 140 health club quality exercises and can provide you with resistance levels from as little as 5 pounds to as much as 210 pounds, then please continue reading.

Recently I had the chance to really try out a newly redesigned set of exercise resistance bands.

I was so impressed with them that I decided to write this... a quick and easy to understand -- Bodylastics Review.

The other thing I wanted to do is to put to the test their claim that these resistance tubes could be the --- "$50 Bowflex alternative."

When I first looked at this resistance band home gym, I was very skeptical.

You see I've been a personal trainer for over 20 years and I've spent a good portion of that time training my clients in health clubs and gyms. So, you could say that I'm biased in my opinion about using resistance bands to get a complete and total body workout. (Most notably, the fact that you need to have many different bands to get a decent workout.)

Now that's not to say I am a free weight fanatic.

No, not at all. I am open-minded and always looking to get an edge for my clients and myself. So when I saw the Bodylastics workout bands being touted as a complete alternative to the Bowflex home gym I was extremely skeptical! I have also trained many clients in their home using a Bowflex and/or a Total Gym.

And while these are both fine pieces of exercise equipment they are, in my opinion... vastly overpriced. Unless you are looking to build a national level bodybuilders physique -- you really DON'T need to join a health club or gym. You can get a great workout in your home, all you need is discipline and commitment. (It does help to have the proper training and nutrition program as well.)

With an investment of less than $200 you can equip your home with plenty of equipment to target and build a ripped, muscular body that any bodybuilder would be proud of.

When I received the Bodylastics workout bands I was immediately impressed with the quality of the product. (One of the things I liked about these exercise bands was their low-cost -- under $50.)

Now mind you, they are not cheap resistance bands! They are of high quality and come with a lifetime guarantee to boot. Do Bodylastics Work

What really struck me about the resistance tubing was the ability to attach more than one band to the handles. The great part about this, is that it has allowed me to increase the resistance for each exercise without having to have a dozen or so exercise bands laying around. I simply attach more bands to the handle (up to seven bands can be attached to one handle) to increase the amount of resistance. Similar to adding plates to a set of dumbbells.

The other thing that was different about the Bodylastics workout bands is that they have a "smart color coding system" (each exercise band has a unique color and the color signifies the tension level.)

As I mentioned earlier... I've always been a big supporter of using gyms and free weights and have used resistance bands in training my clients before. So when I put the Bodylastics workout bands through their paces I wasn't really expecting a lot.

My Bodylastics Workout Experience

My first workout with these bands was a complete shock to me. I was instantly impressed with the quality of the handles, the smooth resistance and thick design of the elastic tubing. As I began my workout it became evident to me that Bodylastics had done their homework in designing these bands.

It even comes with a door attachment and ankle straps to it make easier for everyone to do additional exercises. (In my opinion, it comes with all the right tools to get an effective muscle pumping workout at home with very little exercise equipment.)

I found myself, as I worked out... actually enjoying the versatility and quantity of exercises that could be performed with the Bodylastics workout bands. You can easily use muscle building principles such as -- muscle confusion and super sets to turbocharge your bodybuilding program.

Here's another thing that I liked. With these bands you can perform more than 140 health club quality type exercises and resistance levels begin at 5 pounds ... up to 245 pounds (With the new Terrell Owens Bodylastics Resistance Bands.)
