We stopped our TV service six months ago and have not missed it.

I may turn on the TV for a while in the evening but never watch during the day. Hopefully parents will realize that using a TV as a babysitter is not the way to go.

Mindless TV watching is definitely a problem. I think all of us could learn to be more discerning about what we watch. My kids don't watch too much TV anymore. Me on the other hand...

However, paterents are responsible for their children, so they must control TV watching.

Well I guess you know how I feel about TV!

I read this article a while back about how there was a recent surge of kids starting school who didn't know how to use cutlery and weren't potty trained and could barely talk and it was discovered that although the kids were from wealthy homes they'd hardly spent any time with their parents - most of their time was spent plonked down in front of the TV like zombies. It's so sad.

    Great idea for a lens!

This is a great site! I love using Squidoo to find stuff for my kids to read, watch, learn and play online. I found a great index of kids websites on Squidoo.com. It has info on E-Learning, games, kids TV and software. Keep it up!

Great topic for debate. I will be back later to see how it develops. We watch a weekly family movie night and the Olympics and world cups, but other than that our girls don't watch TV
