Do You Like To Watch? Maybe You Like To Play...

So... do you like to play or do you like to watch? Maybe a little bit of both? I know at times, I'd rather watch, and at other times, i'd rather play. I think this could spark quite a debate. I know that there are some who would rather watch and others still, who would rather play. Now, of course, I'm talking about sports. I know that there are some sports fans who who used to be athletes in their hey-day and would probably rather play sports (if they still could, or maybe they still do). However, I know of others who would rather watch sports. They would rather vicariously live their sports dreams through their heroes on TV (or in-person).

I'm curious to hear what you think. Would you rather watch or would you rather play?

I think if I had to pick, I would probably say that I like to play. Something about the competition and getting involved in the game just gets my blood running. As well, I still am quite young, so that might factor into my decision. One could argue that if I was in my 90s, I might prefer to just watch sports, but from where I sit, I think that when I'm in my 90s, I still want to play sports.

Although, there are some sports that I'd rather watch than play. For instance, I like football (American football, that is), but I'd much rather watch it than put on all the equipment and play it. I wouldn't mind pick-up football on the field sans all the rough and tough elements of it, but some could say that is far removed from the actual sport.
