Doctor Octopus is a fictional character and an enemy of Spiderman that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in Amazing Spiderman #3 (July 1963), and was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko.

Otto Gunther Octavius is a stocky, myopic man who utilizes four powerful, mechanical appendages. A highly intelligent mad scientist, he is obsessed with proving his own genius and destroying Spiderman. He is one of Spiderman's greatest enemies and Stan Lee has cited that Doctor Octopus is one of his favorite Spiderman villains.

In his first several appearances, Dr. Octopus' last name was spelled "Octavious." All stories since have spelled it Octavius. Spiderman has also nicknamed Octopus, "Doc Ock." The character has been featured in most Spiderman animated series and video games and was played by Alfred Molina in the 2004 movie Spiderman 2.

This Doc Ock Mighty Mugg stands at 6 inches tall. I love this one! Great detail and comes with 4 mechanical arms attached to the backside. I really enjoyed the story of this character from the film -- a nice love story for background which made us pity him. This is a big hit with the little boys in our lives, but my little nieces (the girls) don't really like it.  :-) Expect to pay a little more than $10.00 on ebay (around $15.00). This is sold out at many other venues online, so try eBay first.
