Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove is a magnificent dark comedy with a fabulous cast giving top flight performances including three seperate major roles played by the great Peter Sellers.
The film mirrors Fail Safe in that it postulates what could happen were the United States' nuclear attack system to be put into effect without proper authorization, leaving the proper authorities with the dual problems of attempting to stop the attack and preventing a counterstrike by the Soviet Union.
