Yay! I loved Avatar (and meeting you and Moon in SL too!) I still log on for SL Peacefest. Was awesome!
  • aj2008 Nov 2, 2011 @ 3:48 am | delete
Reading this page with a lump in my throat. And yes, I certainly agree that Avatar is the most beautiful film ever made. It made an impact on me too but I am unable to articulate about it as well as you Kate.

Finally rented Avatar to see this weekend.

    Neat lens, nicely done

Beautifully done. I don't have any animals but I do know that they are treasured companions to those that have them.

Muki has healed many. Reading his story through your eyes I felt the One dog that connects us through the heart. I felt him in my arms as he passed and I felt him walk through. Such ineffable peace. I loved your description of Ulysses following Muki's spirit form- how do we not see these things for ourselves? We could find so much comfort there. Angel blessed and featured on November Blessings under Pets and healing.

Moments like these are not always easy to share via typing. Moments like these are ineffable, when a reader is connected to the writer via the heart. I feel as if Mukunda is sitting by my feet, as if there is only One dog that joins us all in love. I'll be featuring on November Blessings under pets and healing. Love you Muki-

Thank you both for seeing the worth of this lens, (which is my fav of mine.) I love it and appreciate your stopping by!!

Deep and moving, you've shared profoundly the eternal echoes of your heart. Kate, this is beautiful!

This is an extraordinary lens and I don't say that often. It seems to have meanings withing meanings, each one a total experience in itself. I love the references to the movie Avatar. I love how you see your dogs as avatars as well. I recently had a cat die by my bedside and it was an honor to share the journey with him. I love the letters to God/ess. Overall it is a superb lens and very worthy of the purple star. Lensrolling to my Web of Connection lens.

Just back to say Congratulations on your Purple Star Kate.

It's hard to type with tears in your eyes. This is a beautiful lens to honor the life of someone so dear.
  • mukunda22 Jan 21, 2010 @ 8:19 am | delete
Kim, I appreciate your visit and the tears--tears of joy, tears of sweet grief--often result in the same Love.

Just as the night Muki's physical body came to rest in your loving arms, my heart breaks at his passing. My eyes cry as I read of your love for him, but I can't help but laugh at his mischief. Yes, his warm physical presence will be missed, but he will always love you.
  • mukunda22 Jan 20, 2010 @ 7:22 pm | delete
That dog was a handful, alright, but I loved him the moment he nipped my nose, about 30 minutes after we got him. He nipped my nose everyday thereafter, as a trickster move.

    What a sweetheart!!

    Thanks Holley for stopping by!!
  • mukunda22 Jan 21, 2010 @ 8:17 am | delete
I think the calling of this lens is to allow unresolved grief to wash the spirit clean!!

Thanks Holley, for your kind words!!

Dog Avatar a beautiful concept, a heartfelt lens, and most deserving of a Purple Star.

Hi Kate - congrats on the purple star and a lovely lens. I cry everytime I read your writings about Mukunda - your writings about him are truly exquisite - so full of love and insight. As for Avatar - yes a beautiful movie - the script - well, you know my thoughts on that. But, that's what art is for - not eveyone is going to have the same interpretation or impression with every piece but if it touches one person the way the artist has intended - then the artist has done a great job!

Thanks so much, Laura. I have to hand it to John Cameron. Life will never be the same.

    Yep-a pal forever!!

Kate, as a fellow pet lover, I felt the exact same thing you did regarding the special electric connection that forms when the animals and natives bond/hook into one another in the movie -- except that you articulate it so much eloquently than I can ever do. Beautiful Muki's playful spirit will forever live on, in your heart and in those of the lives he touched (much like when Grace's spirit joined that of the Tree of Souls). *blessed by an angel today*
  • mukunda22 Jan 20, 2010 @ 6:57 pm | delete
Cynthia--thank you so much for the blessing!! Much appreciated!

They live short lives just so we "get it" about impermanence!! And Love! And Healing! And Full Out Exuberant Living!!

    Thank you, Heather!!

Kate you have such a special way of looking at life and all things spiritual. Your writing always touches me and fills me with emotion.
  • mukunda22 Jan 20, 2010 @ 11:06 am | delete
Thank you AJ. I even cry when I read these things again. Writing this lens has been the greatest therapy, as I move through grief to finally being able to embrace the joy of Mukunda's great presence.
  • OhMe Jan 20, 2010 @ 9:16 am | delete
I haven't seen the movie Avatar but my husband and grandson went to see it. This is a beautiful lens about what you saw and took away from the movie. Thank you for sharing and know that you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers for I know you still miss Mukunda even though his spirit is still very much with you.
  • mukunda22 Jan 20, 2010 @ 11:09 am | delete
Thank you dear Ohme--Avatar is an epic story--although the story behind the story is the best thing of all. Thank you re: Mukunda. I thought weaving the Avatar theme with the loss of my dog would be of more interest to a greater range of people.

Anyway, the pint is well taken!

    Love to you.
  • Joan4 Jan 20, 2010 @ 8:28 am | delete
Kate, your writing, your thoughts and your photographs always touch me. This lens is a beautiful tribute to Muki and an interesting review of Avatar, which I must see!
  • mukunda22 Jan 20, 2010 @ 12:13 pm | delete
Thank you dear Joan. It really is a must see movie, if only because it is single-handedly changing perceptions and paradigms.

    Onward!!
  • GrowWear Jan 20, 2010 @ 7:19 am | delete
Beautiful lens, Kate. I've been reading your comments online about Avatar and I feel that I will watch the movie with better insights now than before. Thank you.

As we all know, interpretations are subject to the one doing the interpreting!! But archetypes and heroic myths are definitely featured in this movie!!
