DOG BARKING - What I did about Dog Barking

Have you ever wondered whether dog barking could be controlled? Have you ever wondered how to stop a dog from barking? The truth is with the proper training dog barking can be controlled but it can't and shouldn't be completely stopped. I tried a number of training techniques to control Dog Barking but neither myself nor my dogs could master them with the fast results that I wanted. Most of the training courses I tried that claimed to stop barking dog failed both me and my dogs and didn't help stop dog from barking.

However there was one course that did work. I have found that the SitStayFetch course had the best information on house training a dog fast and easily. My dogs and I were able to dramatically reduce the dog barking and improve their overall obedience the first day we started. The SitStayFetch course focuses on overall obedience training but also adds some unique twists that helped me to stop barking dog. Not only did I learn how to teach my dogs when and where it was appropriate for them to bark but with the extra bonuses that came with the course I now have dogs that amaze me.

For all the courses on dog barking on the market, this one is the most popular and effective, and it is designed by true professional dog trainers. You can find out more information on the course that worked for me and my dogs by clicking here: Dog Barking

DOG BARKING - Part 1

Understanding It and Dealing with It

To a lot of dog owners the only time a dog should bark is if there is a "boogie man" coming into the house; otherwise there is no place for dog barking, a good dog is a quiet dog.

But to a dog barking is like a person speaking. It is how they communicate to the people they care about. It is their voice. So understanding this it becomes apparent that a barking dog isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact it should be encouraging because a dog wants to "talk" with us and share with us. The downside is that the language barrier between humans and dogs is very dense which puts the burden on the humans to use the body language of the dog, the context and the circumstances of the barking dog to draw meaning from the barks.

WHY DO DOGS BARK

Well there are many reasons for Dog Barking. Much the way humans talk differently, different breeds of dogs bark differently. Breeding of course plays a part. Some dogs are breed to bark when there is a perceived threat while others use their barking as a tool to assist their master in their work, and then some like humans just like to hear themselves "talk".
However, there are some circumstances where just about any dog will bark:

1) Boredom
2) Lonliness
3) Hunger or meal time
4) Danger or something startling
5) Playfulness
6) Another animal
7) Needing to use the bathroom

It's not realistic to try and stop a dog from barking for any of these reasons. It is part of their nature and should be appreciated not controlled. Having said that there are times when a dog barking is both undesirable and unwarranted. And these are the times that training becomes the best solution.

A key to good training is coming to terms with the fact that owning a dog is not about equality. The owner is the boss and the dog is the pet. Dogs are most comfortable and best-behaved when there is an understanding of who is in charge. Respect then becomes a part of the equation. The owner must respect that a dog is a dog and the dog must respect that the owner is the boss. This exchange of respect with the animal for the most part is a learned behavior and with the proper training both the owner and the animal will enjoy a much happier relationship. Understand that training is simply a set of rules both parties understand and follow. The trick is to get into agreement with the pet about the rules and then follow them.

If the owner wants to have control of a dog's unwanted barking then one of the easiest ways is to establish a set of rules with the dog. Here is where a good course on dog training comes in. It establishes the rules by a third party that both the owner and the pet can live by. One of the best programs for establishing these rules is Pet Kingdom's SitStayFetch course. Both reasonably priced and effective, it is worth checking out if you are serious about a dog barking problem. For more information please follow this link: SitStayFetch
