Dog Barking Advices #1

Stop Your Dog From Barking Unnecessarily

Many towns or cities have their own by-laws against barking dogs. It's against the law to allow any animal to disturb the peace and quiet of the town's neighborhood. If you're the owner of a barking canine or the neighbor of a barking canine, there are steps you can take to keep your neighborhood peaceful.
The dogs owner will find it's always easier to train in a good habit than it is to train out a bad habit. Train your dog early on. If the dog barks, while playing or being confined, command very sternly to be quiet. Tell the dog no and gently hold his muzzle shut to show him what you want. Remember to teach the dog not to punish.
If this doesn't work for you and the dog is going to continue his bad habits, get close enough to him while he is barking and squirt him in the face with your lawn hose. Don't use too strong a stream because this could injure the dog. Hopefully he is startled enough, and will give up the barking.
The longer a dog gets away with exercising a bad habit, the harder it is to correct him. So try to give your dog some training time each day. Never leave your dog tied all the time.
Your dog may not like being tied at all, and he will bark as soon as you leave home. If this is the case, tie him where you want to keep him. You may have to leave your home and drive around the block or even park half a block away and walk home. If you find the dog barking, startle him with a loud noise and command no!
A dog barking while confined in the house can also be a nuisance. If the dog barks in the house, set up a situation to make him think you have left. When he begins to bark, go back end tell him no. You might need to bang on the door or startle him.
After you have tried this idea, take the dog outside or untie him and play with him for a bit. Then bring him back and try the procedure again. If you keep your dog in a kennel, and he barks, startle him by hitting the top of the crate or doghouse. Don't forget to give the command "no" right after scaring him.
It doesn't really matter what kind of dog you have. They all can bark if they get bored. Your dog's bad habits can be changed, however, for a dog will not keep doing something if he has made uncomfortable.
The most important thing to remember is to try to keep your pet from developing a bad habit in the first place. Pay attention to him. He is your responsibility to care for, and you must prevent him from being a nuisance to your neighbors.

My Advices On How You Can Stop Your Dog From Barking

1. When your dog barks at inappropriate times, go immediately to her and with a firm elevated voice say "NO", then quickly spritz your dog in the face with water
from a clean spray bottle. If you don't want to use this water method then quickly, after saying "NO", flick your dog with two fingers on the top of its nose. Either method will induce an unpleasant consequence after a barking episode.

NOTE: It should never be your intention to hurt or harm your dog in anyway! Don't use so much force that you inflict pain upon your dog. You just want your pooch to experience an unpleasant consequence, however it should only be enough to make him or her think twice about barking.

It is very important to use a firm verbal command and the spray water or corrective nose tap method every time your dog barks inappropriately.

2. Go to him immediately during a barking episode instead of calling him to you. You must do this each and every time he barks otherwise he will never learn how "not to bark".

3. You must be persistent and consistent with this training method. If you're not... your dog will be persistent and consistent with his barking.

4. Reward your dog when he is a quiet dog! You can offer a treat or even playing with him when he's quite will work just as well. Remember your dog may be barking for attention. So when he or she is quiet, give them some.

When you can make being quiet more pleasant than barking, then and only then will barking become a thing of the past.

Daily Dog Training Advice

(Note:I give a different dog advice every day therefore please come back often)

CRATES

When people see me use the crate with my dogs, especially those unfamiliar with using crates for dogs. They exclaim, "How could you be so cruel and leave your dog in the crate for many hours?". It's not cruel unless the dog isn't let out to relieve and exercise. For puppies they are kept in a safe place and not running around the house chewing up who knows what and getting into who knows what! The crate saves a vet bill due to a sick dog that ate a foreign object because you left the dog to roam the house. Or, worse, find your dog electrocuted from chewing on an electric cord. Leaving your dog in a crate could save your dog's life! Would you leave your baby to roam the house without supervision? No! So, keep your puppy out of trouble and safe by putting your canine family member in the crate while you are gone from home. Putting the pup or dog in the crate will prevent these situations from happening while you are gone. So, then what about putting your pup or dog in a room or playpen? The extra space with these will likely cause the dog to urinate and mess more unlike with a crate which is smaller size and they are forced to lay down in their mess which teaches them not to go again in their place. This doesn't teach them when and where to go relieve. If you do this you will have to take them out very often or watch when they seem to be looking for a place to potty and get them out quickly. While you are housebreaking your puppy or dog it is best to use a crate until you do fully housebreak him or her. Another words when you can, watch your dog or pup and take him or her outside when he or she needs to or attempts to urinate or defecate. When you can't watch your dog or pup then put he or she in the crate. Don't leave your dog or pup (especially a pup) in the crate for 9 to 11 hours this is way too long. You will more than likely have to follow their relieving schedule which I explain above. I prefer to use the Vari-Kennel brand of crate.

Daily Pet Jokes

I want you to leave with a smile, here is a pet joke of the day.

Blind Man's Dog

A blind man was waiting to cross the road when his guide dog peed on his leg. He reached into his pocket and took out a biscuit for the dog.

A passerby who'd seen everything remarked, "That's very tolerant of you after what he just did."

"Not really," came the reply. "I'm just finding out where his mouth is, so I can kick him in the butt."
