Dog Farting

Dogs suffering from excessive flatulence or farting can quickly pollute the smell of air in a room. Even though it is not harmful to human health, the smell is often putrid and can create some embarrassing moments when guests are around.

The most common causes of farting in dogs include:

* Eating too fast - When the dog eats too fast, it will swallow air or aerophagia which makes it to the intestines.
* The natural process of producing gas through food digestion and absorption in the digestive tract.
* Eating foods that are known to cause farting like beans and cauliflower.
* Eating a low quality dog food.

Cure Dog Flatulence

Tips that can help cure dog flatulence:

* Give the dog smaller portions and more feedings throughout the day.
* Feed your dog in a quiet comfortable area so that they will take their time eating.
* Take the dog to exercise more frequently to help stimulate the intestines.
* Choose a premium brand dog food that is more digestible than the cheap stuff.

There are products on the market that can can be added to dog food to reduce flatulence, but these should only be used at the recommendation of your veterinarian. Activated charcoal is used in this regard and absorbs the bad smelling gas. Only use it occasionally because it can kill the nutrients the dog is getting from food.
