Dog Food Comparisons
If you care anything about your Dog you will take note of a few of the comparisons here. Maybe, just maybe, you will read something that you had not thought of. After all, you want the best for your four-legged friend...Right?
Before getting started, we all know there are different kinds of dog food and making a choice can be difficult and certain;y should not be done in the grocery store. AND certain;y should not be done based upon price!
Homemade Dog Food
This type of food is really for Dog Owners that truly do take note of what goes in their Dog. We are not talking about the table scraps but rather food prepared in a special diet just for their dog.We all have seen our grandmothers feed the family pet with table scraps. And we too have probably been guilty of that as well. But let's discuss this type of dining.
Homemade dog food can be made from a variety of sources like raw meat (which some dogs love). And there are some dogs that like it cooked as well. But aside from that, there are other foods like brown rice, and even vegetables that are used as ingredients.
This type does lend itself well for controlling what goes into the food like the additives that some companies put in. Maintaining a healthy and balanced nutrition based diet can be as difficult or easy as the owner wants to be.
Wet Dog Food
Wet dog food is really the moist food. It used to be that this food came in a can but today it can be packaged in a pouch too. This moistness is really the water or juices that the food was prepared with. One of the biggest benefits is that nutrition is easy to formulate for your type of dog. Not to mention older dogs seem to chew up moist food better as well as being able to digest it easier.
However, not knowing the additives or preventing some additives from your dogs diet is really hard with this kind of food.
Even though your dog will love moist food it can take its tool on the owner. After all it is smeller and hard to clean if your dog does not clean their bowl.
Dry Dog Food
By far the more popular of the different types due its ease of storage and clean up. The benefit is that it's pretty easy nutrition for the dog.One thing to keep in mind is that this food should be properly stored. If not, then it can go stale and your dog will not like it or eat it.
Dry dog food is very good from a nutritional standpoint, most dogs love the crunchy aspect of the food and the owners loves the clean up!
