Dog Games
This is a photo of my partner Annie.
Where we live they call her a PatterJack. They seem to think she is half Patterdale Terrier, like me, and half Jack Russell.
Personally I don't really care. She's very nice and she's been good company since she arrived from the rescue home three years ago.
Better get down to telling you about dog games.
We use dog games to learn how to do doggie things. Out two favorite games are "Hunting" and "Sniffing".
Hunting is obviously very important when you are descended from a wild Wolf. As we're pack animals we like to hunt in a pack. At least most dogs do, personally I am quite happy hunting alone.
The point is that we're genetically engineered to look for food. Once your human handler understands this point they will get on a lot better with their hound.

No-where on the above list does it mention slapping or hitting. These are simply not concepts that we understand or welcome.
So, if you want to communicate with us please use one of the methods above and they we will, maybe, understand what you want of us.
A command that sounds like a growl or a bark will usually be a very effective threat.
